The rise of new automotive companies

The rise of new automotive companies | The Revolution Of The Car Industry | Scoop.it
Because of computer power, a new level of momentum and the state of evolution, we are now entering another chapter in the “Innovator’s Dilemma” This theory, purported by Harvard professor Clayton Christensen, describes when new technologies cause great firms to fail. And more importantly, competitive products have been created that premium companies like Audi, BMW, Toyota and Mercedes now take very seriously.

China's electric cars are cheaper, but is there a deeper cost? | The Revolution Of The Car Industry | Scoop.it

China's car industry has been developing rapidly since the country joined the World Trade Organization in 2001. But that process accelerated rapidly in 2015, when the Communist Party introduced its "Made in China 2025" initiative. The 10-year plan to make the country a leader in several high-tech industries, including EVs, attracted intense criticism from abroad, and particularly the US, amid claims of forced technology transfers and theft of intellectual property – all of which the Chinese government denies.

Challenges In Using Sub-7nm ICs In Automotive

Challenges In Using Sub-7nm ICs In Automotive | The Revolution Of The Car Industry | Scoop.it

Automotive chips traditionally were developed at mature process nodes in five- to seven-year cycles, but much has changed over the past half-decade. Mechanical systems have been replaced with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), complex infotainment, and chiplet-based systems that rely on high-performance computing to process more sensor data in real-time.
Attaining automotive grade quality levels (<1 defective part per million, DPPM) over the wide range of power devices, flash memories, display drivers, and electronic control units is a daunting task. It requires substantial innovation from the design-for-test and test community.

| The Revolution Of The Car Industry | Scoop.it
