Big ideas are common in medicine. Turning them into real products is not. David Ferrera has spent nearly 30 years doing exactly that. He is an engineer, entrepreneur, and inventor based in Lake Forest, California. Over his career, he has helped build and sell multiple medical device companies. He holds more than 80 U.S. and international patents. He is also the author of Innovation in Translation: How Big Ideas Really Happen. But his focus is simple. “Innovation is important,” Ferrera says. “Translation is everything.”

Innovation follows a distribution, not really a plan. The most cited industry data shows it takes roughly 3,000 raw ideas to generate one commercial success. BCG finds that companies in the top quartile of innovation performance run 2 to 3 times as many experiments as their peers and generate up to 30% higher revenue from new products. McKinsey shows a similar pattern. The difference is not better ideas but more attempts.
Now compare that with how telecom operates in a strict regulatory environment with a five-nines regime. Ideas are filtered early, often before any test. Business cases are required up front, and risk is evaluated before learning occurs. In many teams, individuals are implicitly pushed to bring one or two ideas per cycle. If a unit of 100 people generates 200 ideas in a year, the expected number of real successes, based on the 3,000-to-1 ratio, is close to zero. The math does not work.

Avec cette opération autour de Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, le studio mise sur une idée simple mais efficace : faire ressentir physiquement ce que les spectateurs voient à l’écran. Une stratégie qui s’inscrit dans une tendance plus large où le divertissement devient de plus en plus immersif.
Au-delà de l’effet spectaculaire, cette activation fonctionne aussi comme un puissant levier de visibilité. Filmée et relayée sur les réseaux sociaux, l’expérience prolonge la promotion du film bien après la séance. Et prouve qu’aujourd’hui, pour marquer les esprits, il ne suffit plus de montrer une histoire… il faut la faire vivre.

L’idée ne cherche pas à supprimer la peur du noir, mais à la détourner. En rendant l’obscurité indispensable à la lecture, le dispositif inverse complètement le réflexe habituel qui consiste à allumer la lumière pour se rassurer. C’est précisément cette contrainte qui fait la force du concept.
Le livre devient une expérience sensorielle et émotionnelle. Il ne raconte pas seulement une histoire, il crée une situation où l’enfant doit accepter le noir pour accéder au récit. Un insight simple, celui de la peur du noir, est ainsi transformé en levier pédagogique et comportemental, sans discours moralisateur.

Derrière ces décisions commerciales se cache une réalité industrielle complexe. Le marché mondial subit de plein fouet une véritable pénurie de puces mémoire, alimentée par la forte demande émanant notamment du secteur des serveurs pour l’intelligence artificielle. Parallèlement, les capacités de production peinent à suivre. Les fournisseurs ne peuvent augmenter leurs volumes aussi vite qu’ils le souhaiteraient. De surcroît, la flambée du prix des matières premières, métaux ou énergie, accentuée par les incertitudes géopolitiques actuelles, alourdit davantage la facture.

Ce projet TeraFab ambitionne rien de moins que la production mensuelle d’un million de wafers – soit dix fois plus qu’une fab dite « leading-edge » traditionnelle. Les fuites évoquent une structure modulaire : dix modules capables chacun d’atteindre 100 000 wafers/mois. L’approche se veut aussi résolument intégrée, allant du design logiciel jusqu’au packaging avancé dans un même site – comme le modèle IDM jadis privilégié par Intel. Pour Tesla, réussir ce pari signifierait produire chaque année des centaines de milliards de puces AI destinées tant aux véhicules qu’à ses robots.

Contrairement à la majorité des solutions du marché qui privilégient le cloud, ce « Personal Computer » mise tout sur une expérience entièrement locale. L’agent IA préinstallé fonctionne en continu sur la machine : il analyse, automatise et assiste l’utilisateur dans sa gestion quotidienne des documents, courriels ou applications, tout en évitant les interruptions entre les différentes sessions. L’accès direct aux fichiers sans passer par un serveur centralisé offre un avantage décisif : la latence serait cinq fois inférieure aux alternatives cloud, selon les annonces de Perplexity. Un argument de taille pour ceux qui exigent réactivité et respect de leur vie privée.

Owing to the increasing requirement for robotic systems to interact intelligently in unstructured and dynamic environments, multimodal perception has become an essential and challenging task. In this study, we introduce a multifunctional robotic hand that can distinguish the shape and material properties of objects using a dual-mode electronic skin (e-skin) capable of non-contact and contact sensing. The e-skin is composed of a polarized expanded polytetrafluoroethylene electret embedded in Ecoflex, thus enabling non-contact sensing via the electrostatic-field effect and contact sensing based on the triboelectric effect. The embedded electret architecture facilitates a high internal charge density, thereby significantly enhancing the intensity and range of non-contact sensing, an advantage not achievable using conventional approaches.

Their creation measures only 1.98 square micrometers. This makes the code smaller than most bacteria. It is so tiny that only an electron microscope can see it. The Guinness Book of Records recently verified this as a new world record. This breakthrough is only 37% the size of the previous record holder. The technology marks a massive leap for the data storage industry.

China has long been a counterfeiting hub. Shoppers do not have to look far to find fake Nestlé food seasoning or imitation Nike sneakers. And brands are not the only form of intellectual property (ip) that is readily pilfered.
