AI has the potential to transform leadership and business—or to lead us toward an automated and uninspiring work experience. Which will it be?

About a year ago, I presented a workshop to my fellow teacher candidates on supporting gifted learners. I brought a bit of a unique perspective - I was a gifted learner, moved to a congregated class at the beginning of grade three. The congregated program had a massive impact on me. I went from crying about having to go to school to embracing the new challenges presented to me as my needs were properly accommodated. Following the workshop, I summarized my research and personal experiences to cre

We often believe we understand the meaning of ‘digital literacy’, but it can be a misleading term. Do we mean digital skills? Online safety? Where does AI fit in? As computer science education evolves to meet the needs of our increasingly digital world, we believe that true digital literacy empowers young people to engage with technology thoughtfully, critically, and confidently.
In issue 26 of Hello World, we discuss what digital literacy means, how it is taught in different countries around the world, and how educators are rethinking digital literacy for their students and themselves. From practical ways to increase your own digital literacy as an educator to asking what would happen if we considered digital literacy in the same way as we consider traditional literacy, there are lots of thought-provoking articles to discover.
Also in this issue: Insights on digital literacy in India, the Netherlands, and the US AI safety resources Practical tips for reigniting your passion for teaching And much, much more." Via John Evans, Ricard Lloria

![]() "We agree that AI should not be mystified. We agree that students should be taught to question it, prod it, and refuse to treat it like gospel. But here is where I push: it is not just about getting students to “understand” AI. It is about recognizing that AI already understands them — because it has been trained to. And it is already being embedded in schools in ways that make understanding secondary to compliance.
This is not theoretical. This is happening." Via Ana Cristina Pratas |
