Not a Gamer? You Can Still Teach Game Design! | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
Designing games is a powerful way for students to learn transferable and in-demand skills, and teaching it can be as easy as allowing students to demonstrate their learning using tools they choose.

"Getting started teaching game design might seem intimidating, but teachers don't need to be experts in game design or general technology to use them in their classrooms. (I certainly wasn't!) Here's why game design is such a powerful learning experience, and how you can get started teaching it even if you're not a pro gamer yourself."

AI will shrink the University

AI will shrink the University | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

Presentations and panels focused on strategies for deploying AI in the classroom and other student-facing applications. I’d expected as much; these are the first things that come to mind. It’s the glamour work, or what passes for glamour in education. Similarly, pundits, technologists, and futurists have been hard at work predicting how AI will transform the classroom via developing lesson plans, identifying additional learning resources, rewording resources to make them more accessible or age-appropriate, building formative assessments, grading, learning analytics, and the Holy Grail: personalized instruction and tutoring.

[PDF] McKinsey Technology Trends Outlook 2024

[PDF] McKinsey Technology Trends Outlook 2024  | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

This report lays out considerations for all 15 technology trends. For easier consideration of related trends, we grouped them into five broader categories: the AI revolution, building the digital future, compute and connectivity frontiers, cutting-edge engineering, and a sustainable world. Of course, there’s significant power and potential in looking across these groupings when considering trend combinations.

To describe the state of each trend, we developed scores for innovation (based on patents and research) and interest (based on news and web searches). We also sized investments in relevant technologies and rated their level of adoption by organizations.

The landscape of education is on the brink of a profound transformation, driven by rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence. This shift was highlighted recently by Andrej Karpathy's announcement of Eureka Labs, a venture aimed at creating an "AI-native" school. As we look ahead, it's clear that the integration of AI in education will reshape how we learn, teach, and think about schooling altogether.
