"When ChatGPT was introduced to the public in late 2022, it sparked a significant divide in the education community. On one side, teachers recognized the potential of this tool as a means of personalizing and democratizing learning. On the other, some educators expressed concerns that it would become an ultimate cheating tool, leading to a decline in authentic and creative thought. "

I love that the tech giants like Google and Adobe are offering free courses for educators. So many educators could benefit from the use of generative AI but are not comfortable with how it can be used, why it should be used and how to protect student data and the cheating/plagiarism that is often associated with AI. Both of these courses are short and did I mention...FREE! I think they would be a great way to introduce school administrators and teachers to AI and hopefully encourage them to start using the tools we have at our fingertips.

While I think learning how to use AI tools in our lives is important, I believe receiving a degree is more important. Individuals should be open to learning how to use AI and improve their skills with it as the world is moving forward, but there are many more things they need to be able to know how to do that AI will not teach them. It's a great skill to have, like a bonus, but should not be the foundation of things.

"Just as the invention of the printing press did in 1436, the commercial evolution of the internet in the 1980s and launch of the World Wide Web in 1993 transformed the sharing of knowledge, the introduction of GenAI/LLMs has the potential to radically overturn the existing monopoly on knowledge sharing and expertise, enabling more learners to both access and gain value from information and knowledge."

Digital ecosystems are a set of interconnected elements that enable an integrated and seamless digital experience. In education, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has great potential to improve teaching and learning. However, for the expectations placed on the educational use of AI to be met, it is necessary to develop adequate digital ecosystems that allow its effective implementation. Therefore, it is of great importance to deepen the understanding of these ecosystems and their key elements for such implementation. For this purpose, a systematic review of the literature on this subject was conducted, which included the analysis of 76 articles published in peer-reviewed journals. The main results of the review highlight the current focus of research in that matter, which relates digital ecosystems and artificial intelligence around the personalization of learning. Also, some aspects related to this relationship are analyzed from four categories: networks, applications, services, and users. Via Edumorfosis, juandoming
It’s easy to get dismissive about educational theory. I’ve heard teachers say “Don’t bother with the theory. Just focus on practical strategies.” But when done well, theory can provide a roadmap and framework we can use. It can be a nuanced dialogue that cuts to the core of why we do what we do. The problem is that teachers are busy and the research is often dense. However, with generative AI, it is easier than ever to access theory and research in a way that is practical and relevant.
