More Harvard College students than ever are passing their classes with flying colors, but the college’s evaluation system is “failing to perform the key functions of grading”, according to a report released by the Office of Undergraduate Education on Monday.

The 25- page report, which was sent to faculty and Harvard College students on Monday, found that more than 60 percent of grades awarded to Harvard undergraduates are A’s, compared to only a quarter of grades two decades ago. It concluded that Harvard’s current grading system is “damaging the academic culture of the College”.

Esto es lo que ocurre cuando el rol de los docentes se reduce a la rendición de cuentas, mientras que el objetivo de los estudiantes se centra en sus calificaciones acumulativas. La enseñanza de calidad y el aprendizaje significativo han pasado a un segundo o tercer plano. La educación de las Ivy Leagues también se ha convertido en una mercancía del sistema para hacerle creer a los estudiantes que ya están preparados para salir al mundo moderno. La calificaciones NUNCA han sido indicadores del aprendizaje humano en todas sus dimensiones. Tan falsas como los rankings universitarios que se publican con frecuencia...

El Departamento de Instrucción Pública de Carolina del Norte (NCDPI) publicó recientemente una guía para el uso de inteligencia artificial generativa en las escuelas públicas. NCDPI es el cuarto departamento de educación estatal de la nación en emitir orientación a sus escuelas sobre el uso de esta tecnología de vanguardia.
 
La IA Generativa está desempeñando un papel creciente y significativo en nuestra sociedad. En NCDPI, están comprometidos a preparar a los estudiantes para enfrentar los desafíos de esta tecnología que cambia rápidamente y convertirlos en innovadores en el campo de la informática, dijo la superintendente estatal Catherine Truitt.
 

La guía estatal dice que la Alfabetización IA debe infundirse en todos los niveles de grado y áreas del plan de estudios. También enfatiza la importancia de incorporar la IA en el aula de manera responsable, usándola como una herramienta para ayudar en el aprendizaje.
