Les ministères de la Culture du Québec et de la France ont publié en 2020 une stratégie commune sur la découvrabilité des contenus culturels qui déterminait des solutions pour assurer une meilleure visibilité des artistes et des œuvres francophones dans l’espace numérique. Ce MOOC répond à cette initiative et s'adresse aux professionnels et étudiants du secteur culturel.
Les contenus culturels sont souvent noyés dans la masse d'informations sur le web. Les mécanismes derrière les algorithmes et les moteurs de recherche doivent être bien compris afin que les contenus soient propulsés de manière optimale dans les résultats de recherche et les recommandations associées. Cela passe par la connaissance et l’usage des données, par la recommandation, par l’adaptation des sites au web 3.0 ainsi que par la définition de nouvelles stratégies de marketing numérique afin de rendre visibles les contenus culturels et les faire découvrir à un large public. Ce MOOC est développé par Compétence Culture, l'Institut national de l'audiovisuel, en collaboration avec Synapse C et une trentaine d'expert(e)s de la France et du Québec partageant l’état des connaissances actuelles sur ce vaste sujet.
