Forget Critical Race Theory in the Classroom. Kids Are Learning About Race on TikTok. | EdSurge News | Learning & Technology News | Scoop.it
Of course, there are dangers to social media as an outlet for educational content, particularly on TikTok. The app’s “For You” page regularly exposes users to videos from profiles they don’t follow and likely know little about. And though online conspiracy theories are more closely associated with Baby Boomers, no generation is immune to misinformation.
Nik Peachey's insight:

Really interesting look at how TikTok is being used to engage teens on race.

Amy Taulman's curator insight, July 30, 10:27 AM
Misinformation and misrepresentation of Critical Race Theory in the classroom is spawning legislation to prevent what already doesn't get taught schools. Broad wording in the legislation will also ban basic civic education. Social media like TikTok can help combat the narrowing of our civic lens. But highly filtered social media exposure can also produce myopic visions of society.

Better Questions in the Classroom Lead Students to Think Harder—and Learn Deeper | EdSurge News | Learning & Technology News | Scoop.it
