SEGUNDO CONGRESO DE ACCESIBILIDAD DIGITAL 2025 La accesibilidad digital no solo elimina barreras, sino que también fomenta la inclusión y la equidad en la educación. Cuando las plataformas, recursos y herramientas digitales son diseñados teniendo en cuenta la diversidad funcional, se garantiza que todos los estudiantes puedan aprender, interactuar y contribuir en igualdad de condiciones. El Congreso de Accesibilidad Digital 2025 reunirá a expertos, educadores, diseñadores de contenido, personal informático, profesores y estudiantes en un esfuerzo conjunto por fomentar la inclusión digital de las personas con impedimentos o diversidad funcional. Este evento, organizado por el Comité de Accesibilidad Digital de la Universidad de Puerto Rico en colaboración con la Internet Society, capítulo de Puerto Rico, tiene como objetivo principal generar conciencia, compartir conocimientos y promover mejores prácticas en la creación de entornos digitales accesibles. A través de conferencias, talleres interactivos y paneles de discusión, los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de explorar temas como la accesibilidad en cursos en línea, el diseño de páginas web inclusivas, el uso de tecnologías asistivas, la implementación de proyectos y el desarrollo de políticas que garanticen la equidad en los entornos digitales. Este congreso será un espacio de aprendizaje transformador para los 200 asistentes esperados, quienes no solo adquirirán conocimientos, sino que también tendrán la oportunidad de ponerlos en práctica evaluando y corrigiendo la accesibilidad en sus plataformas digitales. Además, el evento buscará inspirar la participación activa de aliados y organizaciones en el desarrollo de normativas que promuevan un entorno digital más justo y funcional para todos. Information Literacy is Critical in the Digital AI Age
Information literacy has become essential in today’s digital age, particularly with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), which has enabled the spread of misinformation on an unprecedented scale. Recent events, such as pro-Palestinian protests at U.S. universities, have served as fertile ground for the dissemination of false information, including misattributed chants and debunked claims about the presence of extremist groups.
AI has intensified the complexity of the information landscape by quickly generating and amplifying misleading narratives, deepfakes, and artificially created visual content. This situation has raised concerns among global leaders, who see misinformation as a significant emerging challenge. The World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report highlights misinformation and the manipulation of information as critical threats today.
To address these challenges, it is vital for students to develop strong information literacy skills. This includes learning to question sources, identify false information, and critically consume news and content on social media. Information literacy education should be integrated into curricula from an early age, as demonstrated in Finland, where media literacy has been part of the national curriculum starting in preschool.
Emerging technological tools are also empowering users to combat online misinformation, enabling more effective fact-checking and the identification of misleading content. The combination of information literacy education and the use of these tools is essential for navigating today’s complex digital environment.
In an era where AI amplifies misinformation, information literacy becomes a critical skill for students, equipping them to discern the truth and engage meaningfully in the digital society.

Videos are a great way to hook students on a subject...add music and chances are good that students will listen and watch. Here are ten videos in range of areas. Three are described below.
* The Presidential Election Process - Learn about the "US presidential election, from primaries to inauguration day, including the importance of media coverage and fundraising!"
* Learn the Continents - Help younger students learn “about the different continents, understanding the basic geography behind them and recognizing them on the map.”
* Parts of the Cell Rap - An animated rap where "the relevant part of the cell lights up and moves to illustrate the song as it goes along."
Additional videos explore quadratic equations, MacBeth, creating a graph from an equation, states and capitals, the element song, and the life and works of Shakespeare.
Finally someone brought the fun back into learning.
