We have come a long way with using Google on the iPad. We now have 50 official apps from Google, Inc. for iOS. The following is a list of Google Apps for iOS. This list is exhaustive and includes several apps that are not on the infographic Guide to Google Apps for the iPad. Some of these are natural for classroom integration, and some are more for personal or business use. Some are optimized for both iPad and iPhone; some are only optimized for iPhone. Each app title is linked directly to the App Store so you can click directly from your device to download each app. Via Suvi Salo

As smartphones have become more common, educators have struggled with the question of what to do with smartphones in the classroom. For K-12 educators, the answer has been to ban smartphones from the classroom completely. College professors have also banned smartphones in increasing numbers. But now there’s some evidence to suggest that banning smartphones in the college classroom isn’t such a good idea.
A study conducted by researchers in Singapore found that undergraduate students who were allowed to keep their phones with them actually scored better on tasks that measured their cognitive functioning. Even when they weren’t allowed to use their phones, students who were allowed to keep their phones in their pockets performed better than students whose phones were confiscated.
In this case, researchers theorized that the poor performance by students without phones was due to a kind of smartphone withdrawal. When students had their phones taken away, they may have been anxious about missing out on something—a text message or friend request, for example. This anxiety could take students’ minds off of what they should be learning. Via EDTECH@UTRGV, Mark E. Deschaine, PhD, Edumorfosis, juandoming

As teachers, we need to take into account in which moments it is necessary to use the cell phones within the classrooms and which situations is essential confiscate them. Furthermore, we need to consider the age of the students and the subject that we are teaching.

I’m a great believer in taking lots of small steps to make a bigger gain. Incremental improvements that you get better and better at through deliberate practice is one of those things that make us better teachers in the classroom. Often when it comes to technology, one of the biggest barriers to pupils making progress is the time it takes to move on 30 people at the same time. PE teachers regularly face this kind of issue as noted by Simon Johnson below: Via paul rayner

The European Commission has just published the final report of the study "ICT for Work: Digital Skills in the Workplace" on the impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) on the transformation of jobs and skills.
The evidence shows that digital technologies are used in all types of jobs, also in economic sectors not traditionally related to digitisation e.g. farming, health care, vocational training and construction.

Today the studies about how to grow in different jobs are important for us as teachers, since we also prepare students to face laboral life. This study show something that is evident but not many people are prepared to recognise it, ICT is neccesary in every job, including teachers, How much is going to take till we open our eyes to the new age that includes technology? when we do it, we are going to increase productivity and as teachers we are going to increase students' interests, views and knowledge
