The article states the U.S. Department of Education introduced the mobile FAFSA app a much needed step toward making financial aid more accessible, especially for low income students who rely on smartphones for internet access. The U.S. Department of Education is helping break down walls to college affordability. This app could transform the application process into something faster, simpler, and far more equitable.

The article titled 5 things you did not know about your financial aid award, I believed provided a clear overview of the first steps in applying for financial aid resulting in submitting and completing the FAFSA. It also highlights how schools use FAFSA data to determine eligibility and award packages. The awards vary depending on each institution’s policies and parents/students income and other factors. I think it also is a helpful reminder that submitting the FAFSA early and to multiple schools can be key to maximizing financial aid opportunities for students.

Determinants of Socially Responsive AI Governance

"The intersection of AI with justice, equity, and the rule of law presents opportunities and challenges that must be carefully navigated to ensure these technologies serve the public good. AI has the potential to democratize the legal system, making it more accessible to marginalized groups and capable of rectifying errors more swiftly than traditional human-centric systems. However, this potential comes with inherent challenges, such as algorithmic failures, data biases, and implementation shortcomings that must be monitored. Generative AI’s accessibility is vital for ensuring its benefits are available to all, preventing the emergence of a new digital divide between those without access to such technologies."
