"For many advanced computer users, Dropbox is the premiere cloud-based storage and sharing document service. It has replaced the Documents folder on my Mac, and is the primary way I sync files between my devices. Similar and equally useful free services include Google Drive and Box.com.
We’ve already covered some awesome uses for Dropbox, including How to Run Multiple Dropbox Accounts Simultaneously [Mac], how to send send files to your Dropbox without using Dropbox, how to upload files faster and easier with Dropbox, and even how to host a WordPress blog on your Dropbox account. The following are a handful of other ideas for new and maybe more experienced users of Dropbox..." Via Jeroen Clemens, deborabag

Some of you may be working in a technology-rich environment where you have interactive whiteboards and students have access to the internet in the classroom, or a computer lab that you can take students to. Some of you may only have a single computer in your classroom or, perhaps, like the majority of schools around the world, you may have no computer access in school at all. Whichever is the case, this series will still have something to offer you and will enable you to offer something more to your students, either in class or through the development of more motivating homework tasks that students can access outside of school. This resources is extremely valuable for educators when teaching digital technologies. It allows students to learn how to design and implement visual programs, use a range of digital systems and use safe online communications (ACARA, 2013). It provides many explanations surrounding many available digital technologies for the classroom which is titled 'Tech Tools for Teachers' and would allow educators to effectively implement digital technologies into their planning.

Whether it's a group of students collaborating on a project or a research team seeking out resources around the globe, today’s EdTech essentials are all about keeping in touch.
I truly believe that most of my full-time, tenure-track colleagues would rather quit their jobs than teach an online course. And that's a shame, since they are exactly the people who should be helping to set standards for meaningful online education. My colleagues' concerns about the quality of online education could largely be overcome if more such courses were taught by talented and experienced professors known for excellence in face-to-face delivery. Some of the best learning experiences are student-centered, not faculty-centered. I realize that this requires us to let go of the idea that the three hours of weekly lectures we deliver in face-to-face courses add significant value to student learning.
We need to get over ourselves. We have created passive students who never crack a book and don't know how to learn. Faculty members complain about lack of student motivation, yet continue to use the same methods expecting different results. A well-designed, student-centered online course can improve student learning and teach students life skills across a much broader spectrum than a face-to-face course ever could. I think every student should be required to take at least one online course as part of his or her formal education. Via Smithstorian

Consider usefulness of an app according to learner preferences and strengths, educational goal and characteristics of the app itself.
For older students, the media multitasking habit extends into the classroom. While most middle and high school students don’t have the opportunity to text, email, and surf the Internet during class, studies show the practice is nearly universal among students in college and professional school. One large survey found that 80 percent of college students admit to texting during class; 15 percent say they send 11 or more texts in a single class period.

Stampsy is a new iPad app for creating digital content. The steps are easy to follow - add images and text to your page using drag-and-drop method. Change colours or fonts, and design the page as you like. The result you'll get is a linear presentation with great visual potential, perfect for storytelling purposes. There is a small inconvenience though - you will need a Facebook account to use the application. The app is free. Download it here https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/stampsy/id582398120?mt=8

Stampsy is an interesting graphic tool currently for the iPad. It has a few necessry tools such as Headline, Text, Images, Colour Palette, Various Fonts, and best of all it is limited to 10 pages. If Powerpoints were limited to 10 pages I wonder how much real information would be lost? No doubt we'd see the important information. Check it out.
