Do conspiracy theorists deploy information literacy skills? Daria Cybulska from Wikimedia UK argues that this might be so, but with emotions playing a large part in their approach to IL. Complexity resilience provides a means to steer away from this quandary. In her words, "being more comfortable with an increasingly ambiguous, complex, and difficult world. Rather than simply offering definitive answers or actions (like conspiracies do), educators should seek to emphasise the proposition of diverse ideas, perspectives, and narratives - and be comfortable with that diversity and complexity". In other words, eschew the appealing simplicity of misguided certainty, embrace the messiness of nuance.

Our study with pregnant women in Mexico City and Toluca reveals that women frequently turn to Google, social media, and apps for health info. These digital channels can expose people to both helpful guidance and harmful misinformation. To build vaccine confidence, we must leverage the benefits of digital channels for accessibility, while inoculating people against false information with clear, accurate guidance.

The narrative that pediatricians are cashing in on childhood vaccines is not just wrong — it’s harmful. A new analysis of commercial and Medicaid reimbursement data across all 50 states, combined with interviews with front-line pediatricians, shows that vaccines are typically a financial strain, not a profit center. In some states, Medicaid pays less per shot than it actually costs to store, handle, and administer vaccines, leaving practices serving the most vulnerable children to absorb losses or consider cutting back services. Quality incentive payments come from insurers, not pharmaceutical companies, and immunizations are just one metric among many in these programs — not a secret bonus for “pushing shots.”

This has serious implications for public health practice. Inadequate, inconsistent reimbursement is driving some pediatricians to contemplate limiting Medicaid panels or stopping vaccine delivery altogether, which would add barriers for families and risk more under‑vaccinated kids. When misinformation convinces parents that vaccine recommendations are about money rather than children’s health, trust erodes and preventable diseases gain ground. Policymakers and payers should be asking why reimbursement varies so widely, why Medicaid so often pays below delivery cost, and how to support practices that continue vaccinating despite financial losses.

Derrière ce discours très lyrique sur “l’amour”, “le sacré” et “la réconciliation”, on retrouve Louis Fouché, connu pour avoir diffusé de nombreuses fausses informations sur la pandémie et les vaccins.

Louis Fouché s’est fait connaître pour des discours critiques sur la gestion de la pandémie, régulièrement associés à des narratifs complotistes et à la désinformation sanitaire.

Ce type de message utilise un vocabulaire spirituel vague et consensuel pour attirer un public en quête de sens, sans jamais annoncer clairement le cadre idéologique ni les références scientifiques.

Ce glissement de la désinformation médicale vers le développement personnel est une stratégie classique : on change de terrain, mais on conserve l’autorité symbolique.

Il est important de rappeler le parcours et les prises de position publiques de ceux qui proposent ce type de “parcours”.

Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) Prof Margie Danchin featured on SiriusXM's Doctor Radio program to discuss an uptick in vaccine hesitancy globally, with one in 10 families not currently trusting vaccine information from their healthcare providers.

Professor Danchin suggested additional training for nurses, doctors and vaccine providers, so concerns or questions from families can be addressed, improving vaccine uptake and restoring trust.

Yet another scientific study, i.e., peer-reviewed and published in a credible journal, showing the safety of the COVID vaccines.

Antivaxxers have argued the excess deaths to be due to the COVID vaccination. However, in response to the mounting evidence that there's zero evidence for their bogus claims, they're now changing the narrative and warn about the "long term" effects of the vaccines, again without providing any evidence. I wonder what they will turn to when we eventually get data on that and (hopefully) find no such risks either.

The release of the EDHS 2024–2025 preliminary report provides important insights into recent immunization trends in Ethiopia. Childhood vaccination coverage improved steadily between 2000 and 2016, with the proportion of children receiving all basic antigens increasing from 14% to 39%. However, this progress has not been sustained as coverage declined to 30% in 2024–25. Similarly, the proportion of unvaccinated children which had decreased over earlier survey rounds has risen again to 20% in 2024–25. These findings point to a reversal in immunization gains achieved over the past two decades.

Notably, the report also indicates improvements across several demographic and health service indicators compared to previous surveys, suggesting uneven progress across health domains.

P.S. The EDHS 2024-2025 did not include health facility record as the primary source of vaccination unlike the EDHS 2016 which used the three main sources.

A recent report finds that pediatricians make very little from vaccines, despite a narrative pushed by vaccine skeptics.

Janet Freilich, a law expert at Boston University, and Jeremy Jacobs, a medical professor at Vanderbilt University, examined the status of all CDC databases, finding a total of 82 that had, as of early 2025, been receiving updates at least monthly. But, of those 82, only 44 were still being regularly updated as of October 2025, with 38 (46 percent) having their updates paused without public notice or explanation.

Examining the databases’ content, it appeared that vaccination data was most affected by the stealth data freezes. Of the 38 outdated databases, 33 (87 percent) included data related to vaccination. In contrast, none of the 44 still-updated databases relate to vaccination.

RFK, Jr. has upended federal vaccine policy on COVID-19, Hepatitis B, and the childhood immunization schedule. The next target of the "medical freedom" and MAHA movements are the statehouses. They are trying to to expand religious exemptions and also suing to require all states to add expansive non-medical opt outs for vaccines. As MAHA weakens the nation's vaccine infrastructure, we can expect more outbreaks, more hospitalizations, and more deaths from infectious diseases.

On Vaccine Empowerment: Your Local Epidemiologist concise post on the rhetoric of "false empowerment" around shared clinical decision making and informed consent:
1) Shared Clinical Decision Making: "Many of the vaccines on the childhood immunization schedule were changed from “recommended” to “shared clinical decision-making.” On the surface, this sounds like it’s empowering parents by encouraging them to be involved in decision-making, but again, that’s not what this phrase typically means. Instead, in medical terms, this shift in language implies that there isn’t a clear recommendation for these vaccines, contrary to the data. It gives the appearance of supporting parent autonomy while undermining vaccine recommendations."
2) Informed Consent: "This phrase has been distorted in discussions about vaccine risks, with a push towards overemphasizing rare or unverified risks of vaccines and underemphasizing benefits. But true informed consent helps the patient understand not only what the risks are, but the likelihood of those risks and how to weigh them against the benefits of immunization. Overemphasizing rare or unverified risks distorts patient understanding of the decision, therefore undermining the process of informed consent."

Depuis quelques heures, un individu de sinistre mémoire pour toutes celles et tous ceux qui luttent contre la désinformation scientifique et qui s'est tristement rappelé à nos bons souvenirs en portant plainte auprès des instances ordinales contre notre ami Mathias Wargon parce que celui-ci a eu l'outrecuidance de rappeler à toutes la responsabilité communautaire de la vaccination, se vante d'avoir été "choisi" par la Haute Autorité de Santé pour "contribuer" au groupe de travail sur l'évaluation sur la pertinence d'instaurer une obligation vaccinale contre la grippe pour certaines catégories socioprofessionnelles et les populations âgées de 65 ans et plus résidant en collectivité".

Mais qui est Franck Zeiger ?
Celui-ci s'est rendu célèbre dès le début de la crise du #Covid en apportant un soutien aveugle et inconditionnel au Druide des Calanques reconverti depuis dans le commerce des crèmes qui rendent le cheveu plus gras. Zeiger est devenu un fervent défenseur de l'hydroxychloroquine, balayant d'un geste les multiples études prouvant son inefficacité dans le traitement et la prévention du Covid-19 tout comme il semble soudainement atteint d'une amnésie focale concernant les effets secondaires graves liés à sa combinaison à l'azithromycine...
Qu'à cela ne tienne, faisant feu de tout bois, Franck Zeiger s'est très vite converti à l'ivermectine, n'hésitant pas à relayer les informations mensongères concernant ses prétendues propriétés anticancéreuses.

Franck Zeiger s'est aussi révélé être un soutien des personnels hospitaliers réfractaires à la vaccination contre le #Covid, allant même jusqu'à inciter le plus grand nombre à la résistance contre la dictature de la piquouze...
Négationniste scientifique farouche, Zeiger s'est levé comme un seul homme, mais avec Hélène Banoun aka Tatie Neuneu contre les recommandations de vaccination aux femmes enceintes, que ce soit contre la grippe, le Covid-19, la coqueluche ou la bronchiolite paske c'est pas bien les vaccins.

Eh oui, comme on peut s'en douter, en grand admirateur de Robert le Neuneu des Kennedy, Franck Zeiger qui est médecin, je le rappelle, n'a pas seulement horreur des petites fioles avec de l'ARNm dedans, mais de tous les vaccins qui, selon les théories MAGA les plus stupides qu'il adopte sans sourciller, tuent plus qu'ils ne soignent.

Fort heureusement la plainte délirante de cet énième médecin complotiste a été rejetée par le CDOM93 mais on commence sincèrement à se poser la question de l'utilité du Conseil national de l'Ordre des médecins face à la dérive d'un nombre non négligeable de médecins qui continuent à pratiquer et à distiller leurs mensonges délétères en toute impunité.

Et avouez qu'il est assez cocasse d'apprendre que Frank Zeiger se voit ouvrir grandes les portes de la Haute Autorité de Santé alors que notre chère ministre Stephanie RIST fait au même moment la promotion de sa "stratégie nationale de lutte contre la désinformation". Quelle déconneuse cette Stéphanie !
