Found an interesting report in one of my computer folders that I think is worth the read, at a minimum the Executive Summary. It's a little old now (first published in 2021) but the extend of the profit making has certainly expanded since then.

What is it they say about "follow the money"? Read and find out who is profiting from all the misinformation spread by antivaxxers.

Why the idea of gold standard science and RFK Jr used in the same sentence makes no sense at all ???
And it seems that, in a near future at the next ACIP meeting in the first week of December, we might end up seeing more of why this is impossible… At a two-day meeting earlier this fall, Kennedy’s handpicked vaccine advisers to the CDC raised questions about vaccinating babies against hepatitis B, an inoculation long shown to reduce disease and death drastically.

“The discussion that has been brought up regarding safety is not based on evidence other than case reports and anecdotes,” said Dr. Flor Munoz, a pediatric infectious disease expert at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital.

You might remember in the late 90s, that Wakefield—a handsome gastroenterologist with as it would later be shown, a flair for media—held a press conference about his study of 12 children published in the Lancet, where he announced he’d found a link between a new bowel disease, autism, and the combination vaccine.

It was years before the world learned the truth, through the efforts of an intrepid journalist: that Wakefield’s work was fraudulent. That he’d gathered his child subjects with the help of and anti-vaccine groups and a lawyer looking to profit from them, how he was paid for his efforts, how he falsified data for his study, and how, most egregiously UK regulators found, he ordered colonoscopies, spinal taps, and sedation of these vulnerable children in furtherance of his fraudulent conclusions. In the meantime, the media credulously covered Wakefield’s overhyped findings and parents panicked and stopped vaccinating their kids. By the time his paper was retracted, a medical board in London stripped Wakefield of his license for “unprofessional conduct,” and numerous studies failed to replicate his conclusions, the discredited doctor was remaking himself in America.

Twenty-something years later, Wakefield remains unapologetic and stands by his work. He did not respond to requests for an interview or comment. At a conference this month, he said he refuses to speak with journalists from mainstream outlets. "

All the data show that COVID-19 has been linked to MG rises. Nothing to do with vaccination, and everything with the infection. The literature has shown 2 cases post vaccination, a rare situation likely unrelated. But, on the other end, post-COVID infection MG is well defined and is clearly seen and described. As we all know, Dr Philip McMillan has always in his question tried to label COVID vaccination with any issue and anything... The point made here is that for MG, this is not the case... Now, an interesting question to ask regarding his claim here: which authorization did he have to review the medical files of 10 years of UK Hospital Episode Statistics ? Any such request should be authorized by each and every patient. This raises questions on both informed consent as well as ethics...

A lot of attention these past few days has focused on #vaccines and autism. Instead of addressing that directly - many experts have already done so thoroughly - I want to share this excellent piece written by Aliza Rosen from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

💉 It highlights how vaccines do far more than prevent #infection: #flu, #RSV, pneumococcal, and #shingles shots are linked to lower risks of #heartattacks, #strokes, and even #dementia, while the #MMR #vaccine may help “train” the #immunesystem to better fight new pathogens.

"Those claims aren’t supported by evidence, but they do reflect talking points regularly promoted by anti-vaccine activists—of which Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a leader.

I spoke with five CDC staffers on Thursday and Friday to find out their reactions to the announcement. While they declined to be identified for fear of retaliation, they all said that they and their colleagues were shocked and dismayed by the misinformation put forth on the new page. “It’s horrifying, it’s embarrassing, it’s scary, it’s heartbreaking—it’s all of those things,” said a staffer at the CDC’s Injury Center. “To see our agency being used to spread lies and misinformation is a gut punch,” a CDC communicator with the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Disease wrote in a message. “People will be harmed by this—parents will decide not to vaccinate their kids because of false information, and kids will get sick and die as a result.”

Another longtime CDC employee who works in communications said, “The best way I can put it is it feels like we’re on a hijacked airplane.”

Several employees noted that there had been no warning about the new page before it was posted—in fact, said the NCIRD staffer, even department leadership had “only learned about it today when somebody saw it the same way everybody else did.”

Others doubted the new page had gone through the agency’s rigorous protocol for vetting public-facing information, which the longtime communications staffer said, “can be clunky and take a long time. It is the bane of many people’s existence who work at CDC because it is so laborious and it requires so many different stages of review.” The new page, on the other hand, “popped up without going through CDC clearance processes.”

“I don’t even know who is updating these web pages, or if anyone at CDC has anything to do with any of that,” said another staffer who works on immunizations. Department supervisors told employees that “their understanding is that these updates to the website are not coming from CDC. Somebody at the HHS level is going in and changing these pages.”"


Mr. Kennedy's idea of radical transparency leaves something to be desired.

🟦 Rwanda: Community health workers and local leaders partnered to deliver culturally tailored vaccine education. Result: over 90% coverage for routine childhood immunisations, even in rural areas.
🟦Philippines: After a dip in confidence due to safety concerns, the government launched transparent communication campaigns and engaged social influencers. Result: public trust steadily recovered within two years.
🟦Senegal: Continuous monitoring of misinformation online allowed pre-bunking of myths before they spread widely, keeping measles outbreaks under control.

💡 Key takeaway:
Rebuilding vaccine confidence is never a single intervention; it’s a multi-level, adaptive strategy:
-Listening to communities
-Partnering with trusted local voices
-Engaging in proactive, transparent communication
-Monitoring and responding to misinformation

It’s a reminder that no matter how dire the situation may seem, strategic, human-centred approaches work.

🔷 Les débats autour de la vaccination obligatoire contre la grippe des professionnels de santé sont très agités sur les réseaux sociaux.
Mais où en est-on vraiment ?

🔹Hier le Sénat a examiné un article du budget de la Sécurité sociale concernant de nouvelles obligations vaccinales relatives à la grippe et à la rougeole des professionnels de santé.

Le Sénat a adopté l'article, mais en a modifié la portée :

🔹Grippe : L'obligation vaccinale contre la grippe a été adoptée pour les professionnels de santé libéraux, sous réserve d'un avis de la Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) prévu au printemps.

🔹Rougeole : L'obligation vaccinale contre la rougeole a été adoptée pour les soignants, les étudiants en santé et les professionnels de la petite enfance et ne sera pas soumise à l'avis de l'HAS.

Exclusions et Débats :

🔹Le Sénat a exclu les résidents d'Ehpad du champ de l'obligation vaccinale contre la grippe, contre l'avis du gouvernement. Ce retrait a été motivé par des préoccupations sur la faisabilité, les difficultés de mise en œuvre et le risque de sanctions pour les résidents refusant la vaccination, ainsi que par un taux de vaccination déjà élevé (83 %) dans ces établissements.

🔹Des tentatives pour rétablir l'obligation vaccinale contre la grippe pour tous les soignants (qui est actuellement suspendue par un décret de 2006) ont échoué. La commission des affaires sociales et le gouvernement ont indiqué que cette suspension relevait du domaine réglementaire et pouvait être rétablie par un simple décret, sans nécessiter de loi.

Phase législative et avis scientifique :

🔹L'article, initialement rejeté par l'Assemblée nationale, a donc été rétabli et amendé par le Sénat. Il doit maintenant être soumis à une seconde lecture devant l'Assemblée nationale pour que les deux chambres s'accordent sur un texte identique.

🔹L'adoption de l'obligation contre la grippe pour les libéraux est conditionnée à un avis favorable de la HAS, qui validera sa pertinence scientifique, tandis que l'obligation concernant la rougeole, bien qu'adoptée par le Sénat, doit également passer par cette phase législative finale.

Et comme n'est jamais rien simple, l'avis de la HAS est une expertise scientifique qui, bien que non contraignante pour la loi, est déterminante pour la mise en œuvre pratique de la mesure.

📄 A new study in Vaccine finds that giving 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and rotavirus vaccine during the same visit is as safe as giving them separately and lowers overall costs.

Partial-dose concurrent vaccination was found to be cost-effective, with total costs reduced by 2.29%, 2.20%, and 1.07% for co-administering 1, 2, and 3 doses, respectively, compared to the current separate administration schedule, driven largely by savings in indirect and non-medical costs (e.g., fewer clinic trips).

Ce sera le dernier post que je fais à la suite de la récente conférence de Copenhague sur l’intégrité de l’information. C’est peut-être le plus important.

Au cours de cette conférence, le journaliste britannique Peter Pomerantsev, a secoué pas mal d’idées reçues sur la manière de défendre la démocratie avec l’information.

On se dit souvent que pour défendre la démocratie face aux autoritarismes, il suffit de "dire la vérité" et de fact-checker les mensonges.
Pomerantsev, qui a étudié de près la propagande russe et hongroise, nous dit : "Arrêtez. Ça ne marche pas."

Pourquoi ? Parce que face à un dictateur qui joue sur les émotions et les traumatismes profonds d'un peuple, un tableau Excel ou une vérification de faits froide ne fait pas le poids. Pire, ça braque.

Voici ce qu'il préconise pour que le journalisme serve (enfin) à quelque chose dans cette "ère de l'autoritarisme" :
1️⃣ Arrêter de nourrir la bête: Les populistes veulent diviser le monde en deux (eux vs nous). Quand les médias reprennent ces guerres culturelles, ils tombent dans le piège. Il faut au contraire chercher les fissures : parler de ce qui inquiète vraiment les gens (l'économie, la corruption) et qui traverse les camps politiques.
2️⃣ L'émotion n'est pas l'ennemie : La propagande fonctionne comme une secte: elle exploite la douleur et la peur. Les journalistes doivent arrêter d'avoir peur de l'émotion. Il faut raconter des histoires humaines qui aident les gens à traiter leurs traumatismes collectifs, au lieu de laisser les dictateurs manipuler ces souffrances.
3️⃣ Redonner le pouvoir : Le complotisme naît du sentiment d'impuissance. L'info ne doit pas juste dire "regardez comme c'est horrible", mais donner des clés pour comprendre le contexte global et redonner aux citoyens le sentiment qu'ils ont prise sur leur vie.
Conclusion : Son message est clair : le journalisme ne doit plus se contenter de "narrer le déclin" de la démocratie. Il doit devenir un outil de résilience mentale pour la société.
Une approche radicalement différente, mais peut-être la seule qui nous reste.

We accept gravity without demanding absolute certainty for every apple that falls. Yet when it comes to vaccines and autism - despite dozens of studies, millions of participants, and decades of consistent evidence showing NO causal link - some still say 'but you can't be 100% sure.'

Science doesn't deal in absolute certainties, but it does reach points where the evidence is so overwhelming that moving the goalposts becomes denial, not skepticism. Just as we don't question whether the next apple might fall sideways, we have enough evidence to confidently state that vaccines don't cause autism.

The real question isn't whether we can be 100% certain (we never can be about anything). It's whether we have enough evidence to make informed decisions. And on this question, the answer is unequivocally yes.

When we demand impossible standards of proof for well-established science, we're not being cautious - we're being unreasonable. And in the case of vaccines, that unreasonableness has real consequences for public health. | 13 comments on LinkedIn

We are appalled to find that the CDC’s “Autism and Vaccines” webpage has been changed and distorted, replacing science and evidence-based information with anti-vaccine rhetoric and outright lies. The paper started out with "Imagine a world in which it is not medical knowledge but a free-for-all opinion market on Twitter that determines whether a newly emergent strain of avian flu is really contagious to humans. This dystopian future is still just that—a possible future."

That was 2017

Now it is 2025. And as of a few days ago, the CDC website has seemingly been taken over by Twitter cranks because scientific information has been replaced by outright disinformation -- that is, information that has been verifiably debunked over and over again. Without much room for ambiguity.

What next? Several lawsuits are already underway against RFK Jr, and some medical professional bodies have started speaking out against his attempts to elevate a scientific hoax (which is what the autism scare is based on) above actual science. We shall see... to be continued.
