What is the economic case for expanding immunization across the life course in Thailand?

Despite strong childhood immunization performance, in Thailand many adolescents and adults remain unprotected—leading to preventable illness, economic losses, and increasing strain on the health system.

This new analysis by ThinkWell highlights how life-course immunization can address Thailand’s aging population, rising healthcare costs, and persistent gaps in adult vaccination.

Key findings:
📊 Nearly 30% of Thailand’s population will be over 65 by 2050
💉 Influenza vaccination coverage among older adults remains at just 47%
💰 Expanding influenza coverage to 80% could save THB 1.4 billion annually
🫁 Pneumococcal vaccines can cut pneumonia cases by ~90%, reducing costly hospitalizations
🎗️ HPV vaccination can reduce cancer burden by over 60% while lowering medical costs by up to THB 676 million
📈 Life-course immunization improves productivity and generates broader economic returns

📌 Le CNRS publie un dossier sur la désinformation. Mon décryptage.

Ce qu’il montre, c’est que le sujet a changé de nature : on ne parle plus seulement de contenus faux, mais d’un écosystème de diffusion, d’amplification et aussi (point « nouveau ») d’acceptation.

✅ Un point m’a frappé : sur les deepfakes, le sujet n’est pas seulement technique. Il devient culturel.

1 ↳ La désinformation ne relève plus seulement du faux contenu :
_Le problème est désormais systémique : Internet, réseaux sociaux, algorithmes, images truquées, deepfakes, manipulation de l’opinion.
_Autrement dit, l’enjeu n’est plus seulement de vérifier une information. Il faut aussi comprendre pourquoi elle circule, comment elle est amplifiée, et pourquoi elle prend.

2 ↳ Sur les deepfakes, un résultat retient l’attention :
_Dans l’étude citée par le CNRS, des chercheurs ont présenté à 300 Français différents scénarios d’usage de transformations vocales émotionnelles.
_Le résultat est net : la majorité de ces scénarios ont été jugés moralement acceptables, y compris quand l’observateur n’est pas informé que la voix de son interlocuteur est modifiée.

3 ↳ C’est sans doute l’un des principaux enseignements :
_Le problème n’est pas seulement notre capacité à fabriquer le faux. C’est aussi notre capacité croissante à l’accepter.
_Ce qui peut paraître contre-intuitif : la familiarité avec le faux (et donc sa capacité à de debunker) ne constitue pas forcément un frein à son acceptation.
_Au contraire, l’étude relayée par le CNRS suggère que cette exposition peut contribuer à le normaliser.

La bataille contre la désinformation ne se joue pas uniquement sur le terrain technologique. Elle se joue aussi sur celui des normes, des usages et de la tolérance collective au faux. Dit autrement : la question posée est aussi celle d’un déplacement de la fenêtre d’Overton.

The Concept of Fake News: The Roles of Falsity, Deception, and Politics (SSRN):

Glimpse: This study investigates the factors that influence people's perceptions of 'fake news,' comparing source-based deception with falsity. Participants in two preregistered studies (N=1,200) evaluated claims with different levels of source authenticity and truth value. Falsity and source deception both independently raised the number of fake-news classifications, demonstrating that many people do not only associate 'fake news' with lies. Claim tense determined how these factors interacted: past-tense claims were primarily impacted by falsity, while predictive claims amplified the effects. Higher fake-news classifications were predicted by political conservatism; this effect was entirely explained by perceived source reliability, indicating that partisan differences are not the result of different definitions of fake news but rather biased priors.

The committee highlights the need for coordinated, national strategies to support at-risk youth, criticizing the current Prevent system as antiquated and inadequately adapted to digital radicalization.

“There is no need for the vaccine because hunger will kill my child before any vaccine-preventable disease does.”

Sabin's Boost Community is made up of immunization professionals in all parts of the world. For member Fri Delphine Chifor, who works in parts of Cameroon where conflict has stripped families of safety, income, and access to basic services, vaccines remain one of the few consistent shields children still have. But getting vaccinated can often seem like a secondary concern as parents grapple with urgent questions of where their children will sleep tonight or how they will find their next meal.

Chifor shares how the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services Immunization Program started intentionally shifting the way they engaged with families, addressing what mattered most to them first and offering essential vaccines at the same time.

The impact was immediate — not only did they vaccinate more than 163,000 children in less than a year, but they also screened thousands for malnutrition, gave away mosquito nets and medications, and provided more than 13,000 caregivers with nutrition and vaccine education.

The authors themselves stated : « Importantly, circulating cardiac .biomarkers such as NT-proBNP are not entirely specific for primary myocardial injury. The limitations of the study are such that it clear that the results are to be questioned by anyone with a few brain cells and critical analysis capabilities as: « the relatively small sample size may have reduced the statistical power to detect whether the observed increase in NT-proBNP within 14 days of the second vaccine dose was influenced by any of the assessed covariates. »

"Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s crusade to scale back Americans’ reliance on vaccines has collided with political and legal realities that have endangered the Senate confirmation of one top health official, delayed the nomination of another and diminished his clout in Washington.

A string of developments over the past several weeks have put Mr. Kennedy’s vaccine agenda at risk. The confirmation of Dr. Casey Means, President Trump’s nominee for surgeon general, is stalled on Capitol Hill, where three Republicans on the Senate Health Committee, including its chairman, have expressed concern about her views on vaccines.

On Thursday, Mr. Trump missed a deadline to nominate a permanent director for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, leaving the agency officially leaderless. The White House is trying to find someone who fits with Mr. Kennedy’s broader health agenda but whose views of vaccines are conventional enough to win Senate confirmation.

Last week, a federal judge blocked Mr. Kennedy’s changes to the childhood vaccine schedule. And on Wednesday, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, who is running the C.D.C. even though his time as acting director has expired, made the new normal clear."

Measles: A Preventable Yet Persistent Threat

Measles is not just a childhood illness—it remains a highly contagious viral disease that can lead to serious complications, including pneumonia, encephalitis, and even death. Despite the availability of safe and effective vaccines, outbreaks still occur due to gaps in immunization coverage.

The New York Times vient d’annoncer l’expansion de sa couverture Santé et Science. À première vue, un simple renforcement éditorial. En réalité, un signal stratégique fort !


Voici ce que cela nous apprend, et pourquoi c’est important.

1️⃣ La santé devient une verticale stratégique. Ce n’est plus une rubrique parmi d’autres. C’est un pilier éditorial structuré, avec des équipes renforcée, des formats dédiés et une présence sur plusieurs produits (articles, newsletters, etc.). The New York Times construit une verticale capable de fidéliser à elle seule.

2️⃣ C'est un basculement vers un journalisme "utile". On passe de "expliquer le monde" à "aider le lecteur à mieux vivre". La couverture santé ne se limite pas à la recherche ou aux politiques publiques. Elle intègre le bien-être, la santé mentale, les habitudes de vie, ... Le média devient un guide, pas seulement un observateur.

3️⃣ C'est un levier direct de croissance abonnés. Et c'est probablement le point le plus structurant. Les contenus santé créent des usages réguliers, parce qu'ils s’intègrent au quotidien, donc renforcent la rétention. On n’est plus seulement dans l’information, mais dans un produit d’abonnement récurrent.

4️⃣ C'est une bataille pour la crédibilité à l’ère de l’IA Pourquoi investir massivement ici ? Parce que la santé et la science sont des sujets complexes, sensibles et exposées à la désinformation. Ce sont donc des domaines où la confiance éditoriale reste difficilement remplaçable.

Ce mouvement confirme trois transformations de fond :
📌 Les médias deviennent des plateformes de services
📌 Les verticales fortes remplacent les rubriques généralistes
📌 La valeur se déplace vers l’expertise et l’utilité concrète.

Bref, ce que fait le New York Times avec la santé aujourd’hui, c’est probablement ce que beaucoup de médias devront faire demain : transformer l’information en usage quotidien à forte valeur 💎

A viral claim suggests that 74% of 325 autopsies link deaths directly to COVID-19 vaccines. However, a deep dive into the "Hulscher study" reveals significant methodological flaws.

The paper was removed by The Lancet and withdrawn by FSI for:
❌ Lack of a control group
❌ Subjective "judgment calls" by biased reviewers
❌ Misrepresentation of elderly deaths (mean age 70.4)

Cependant, des syndromes post-vaccinaux existent et sont décrits dans la littérature scientifique, même s’ils restent rares et distincts du Covid long.

Un ancien toxicologue en chef de Pfizer révèle : le vaccin anti-Covid n’aurait jamais dû être injecté.

Le 19 mars 2026, lors d’une audition au Bundestag, le Dr Helmut Sterz a lâché une bombe. Ancien responsable de la toxicologie chez Pfizer Europe, il a confirmé que les études de sécurité de base pour le vaccin Comirnaty ont été sacrifiées. Le motif ? Gagner du temps. Pourtant, le SARS-CoV-2 ne présentait pas un danger comparable à Ebola.

Aucune étude de cancérogénicité n’a été réalisée. Les tests sur la fertilité et le développement fœtal restent incomplets. Les analyses de toxicité à long terme, de génotoxicité ou d’immunotoxicité manquent également. Seule une courte étude de deux semaines sur des rates a été menée. Le Dr Sterz qualifie ce processus de «criminel». Il parle même d’«expériences humaines interdites» au sens du code de Nuremberg.

Dès les deux premiers mois après l’autorisation, plus de 1200 décès et 158 000 effets secondaires graves ont été signalés en Allemagne. Le spécialiste estime que le vaccin aurait dû être retiré immédiatement. Il évoque une possible surmortalité massive, avec jusqu’à 60 000 morts liées à l’injection dans le pays seul. Des millions de victimes dans le monde seraient concernées selon lui.

Ces révélations d’un insider de haut niveau jettent une lumière crue sur l’approbation express du produit. Les autorités ont-elles vraiment ignoré ces manquements ? La population est-elle devenue cobaye sans le savoir et de force ? Face à ces faits, les appels à une enquête indépendante se multiplient. Mais cela ne suffit plus.

Un casier judiciaire long comme le bras

Pfizer n’en est pas à son premier scandale. En 2009, l’entreprise a dû payer 2,3 milliards de dollars d’amende – la plus grosse sanction pour fraude dans l’histoire de la justice américaine – après avoir plaidé coupable pour promotion illégale du médicament Bextra et d’autres produits (kickbacks aux médecins et usages non approuvés).

En 2012, elle a encore versé 60 millions de dollars pour corruption d’officiels et de médecins dans huit pays via des pots-de-vin et cadeaux. Récidiviste notoire, Pfizer accumule les condamnations pour fraude et corruption depuis des années, sans que cela n’empêche jamais ses dirigeants d’échapper à la prison.

L’heure n’est plus aux enquêtes molles ni aux excuses. Les responsables de ce scandale – décideurs politiques, dirigeants de Pfizer et régulateurs complices – doivent être jetés en prison. Seule une justice implacable permettra de restaurer la confiance brisée et d’empêcher que cela se reproduise.
