The new draft law for the promotion of sport in Germany has sparked tension between the federal government and German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), which has rejected the text presented by the chancellery, arguing that it sidelines the voice of organised sport and jeopardises its autonomy.

The Rugby Football League (RFL) can confirm Halifax Panthers have today had their RFL Membership removed. The club was placed into compulsory liquidation in a High Court hearing on Monday. Halifax’s home fixture with Sheffield Eagles on Sunday has been postponed.
