Key of survey;
The survey’s top line metric is that 89 percent of providers, 75 percent of patients, and 73 percent of consumers believe that mobile health offerings can convey significant health benefits.
The group’s concerns about costs associated with mobile health offerings were perhaps the most interesting metrics collected by the pollsters.
Now hospitals, Pharmas, health insurance companies need to take note:
If you are not on the mobile wagon, then you will be left behind.

Key point:
"Fortunately, we are now seeing the emergence of tools that will help add a new dimension to continuing education; one where even a rural primary care physician can participate in thoughtful debate about the latest hypertension guidelines with far flung peers." Pharma should selectively offer some of these tools to doctors in a e detailing platform solution

The conclusion:
- Two reports from AmericanEHR Partners based on a survey of nearly 1,400 physicians suggests that tablets are of greater use for clinical purposes than smartphones.
Note howver, the word clinical.
Buried in the report was an interesting fact.
About 70 percent of physicians use their smartphone to research medications at least once weekly.
This is clear indication the a Pharma should develop an e detailing platform wihich allows doctors to use a medical reference for doctors to search for drug information

The answer to the question, as expected is NO.
"Remember that 1/3 of patients never fill their Rx’s and 1/3 of patients fail to take medications as prescribed" Adherence is a huge problem for Pharma.
However, a great number of mobile apps are on the market making patient medication possible, particulary with games

Even though the article is on reducing budgets there is one great quote.
"The era of Big Pharma, and marketing of the magic of a pill, is gone," Kate Cronin, global managing director at Ogilvy CommonHealth Public Relations, told the news source. "Now it's about everything that surrounds a pill, including services, disease awareness, education and prevention."

"Everywhere you look, companies are using tablet devices to support the sales process. According to Apple’s 2011 report, 92% of Fortune 500 companies have integrated iPads into their business. Companies who don’t adopt mobile into their strategy are in danger of being left in the dust" Will hospitals or Pharma be left in the dust??? |

These are some very exciting mobile apps which Pharma should study to determine how to incorporate the data.
Some of mobile apps could be incorporated into an e detailing platform

Great video.Shows the massive reasons for Pharma using ipads in their digital strategy.
Rather than buy a doctor a few expensive dinners or trips, give a doctor a ipad with pre loaded material on a drug, cme, apps, trackers, order sample, virtual conferencing set ups for self directed e detailing.
Is the better than facing the fact that only 7% of sales reps get over 2 minutes with a doctor, if at all

Take away:
Sampling programs have long been an important part of pharmaceutical brand management. But pharmaceutical organizations have realized the need for alternative ways to supply physicians with samples in the face of restricted access and declining sales force staffing.
One approach that has gained momentum is physician E-sampling - a program that enables physicians to order and manage prescription samples online.

Great facts:
So, Pharma needs to take part in the education of drug medication with the patient. The best way to do that is with point of care information via a mobile app or patient e detailing platform.
