The assessment of existing staff capacity and the skills gap analysis for the new CP cycle from January 2017 onward will allow Haiti CO to gauge staff knowledge and skills in specific technical and competency areas deemed critical for the achievement of the country programme goals and objectives. This process will capitalize on Haiti Country Office Learning and Training Plan achievements for the previous CP cycle and take into account the skills acquired by staff with a focus on the development of a new learning strategy for the next programme cycle. The process is thus timed so that it will provide the office management with a clear picture of current staff capacity as well as inform Haiti CO learning and development strategy, in addition to providing a road map for the subsequent staffing profile and skills set required to support the new CPMP (Country programme Management Plan).

L'objectif sera de doter des forces de l'ordre de capacités pour répondre, de manière efficace, aux attentes de la population en matière de sécurité, tout en étant redevables à l'Etat mais également à chaque homme, femme, fille ou garçon, où qu'il se trouve sur le territoire national. Conjointement avec le bureau du Haut-Commissariat aux Droits de l'Homme, UNICEF, par la section Gouvernance pour la Protection de l'Enfant aura donc la charge d'appuyer la révision et la mise à niveau des curricula et des manuels de formations des forces de l'ordre au travers de leurs systèmes de formation initiale et continue.
Plus de 150 000 étudiants ontariens auront droit à la gratuité des frais de scolarité au niveau collégial et universitaire en septembre prochain. Le gouvernement provincial instaure une nouvelle mesure afin d'éliminer les barrières économiques à l'éducation postsecondaire.
La déclaration d'Incheon 2015 a redéfini l'importance du suivi des résultats d’apprentissage pour atteindre une éducation de qualité inclusive et équitable pour tous. Quelles sont les différentes techniques de suivi des résultats d’apprentissage ? Quelles sont les différences entre examens publics et évaluations nationales ? Que devons-nous savoir avant de prendre part à une évaluation internationale ou régionale ? Quelle est l’évaluation la mieux adaptée à nos pays ?
Apprentices report a number of common barriers to block-release training, including financial hardship, inaccessibility in rural and remote locations, inconvenient scheduling and less frequent training opportunities in low-volume trades. Meanwhile, training providers are making big strides when it comes to increasing flexibility in apprenticeship technical training by introducing options beyond block release. The federal government is currently funding ten pilot projects as part of its Flexibility and Innovation in Apprenticeship Technical Training initiative. These pilots are experimenting with online learning, upfront training, mobile labs and simulator training. As part of its efforts to broaden discussion on this topic, CAF-FCA invites practitioners, jurisdictional apprenticeship authorities, researchers and other stakeholders to submit articles for an upcoming issue of the Canadian Apprenticeship Journal. Articles will be accepted until 12:00pm EDT on April 28, 2017. Research articles should be no longer than 12 pages or 5,000 words, with shorter pieces on specific programs or initiatives (800 to 2,000 words) also welcome. Articles may be written in English or French, and those chosen will be published in the language of submission. Please submit article in Microsoft Word format to: emily@caf-fca.org. Themes of this issue will include: Alternate delivery solutions that work for apprentice learners Examples of initiatives from across sectors and jurisdictions Impact of alternate delivery on completion, grades and learner outcomes Breaking down barriers for rural/Northern apprentices and/or under-represented groups Challenges and opportunities alternate delivery poses for training providers and apprentices For more information, please contact Emily: emily@caf-fca.org.
