Stored programs and views are defined prior to use and, when referenced, execute within a security context that determines their privileges. These privileges are controlled by their DEFINER attribute, and, if there is one, their SQL SECURITY characteristic.
All stored programs (procedures, functions, and triggers) and views can have a DEFINER attribute that names a MySQL account. If the DEFINER attribute is omitted from a stored program or view definition, the default account is the user who creates the object.
In addition, stored routines (procedures and functions) and views can have a SQL SECURITY characteristic with a value of DEFINER or INVOKER to specify whether the object executes in definer or invoker context. If the SQL SECURITY characteristic is omitted, the default is definer context.
Triggers have no SQL SECURITY characteristic and always execute in definer context. The server invokes these objects automatically as necessary, so there is no invoking user.

Open Refine (previously Google Refine) is a data cleaning software that uses your web browser as an interface. This means it will look like it runs on the internet but all your data remains on your machine and you do not need internet connection to work with it.
The main aim of Refine is to help you exploring and cleaning your data before you use it further. It is built for large datasets – so don’t worry as long as your spreadsheets can keep the information: Refine can as well.

When working with data that is published on a monthly basis according to the same template, it is often the case that we need to apply the same data cleaning rules to the data each time a new file is released. This recipe shows to use OpenRefine to create a reusable script for cleaning data files that get published month on month according to the same schedule.

There are many different ways of achieving high availability for MySQL. This Guide introduces DRBD (Distributed Replication Block Device), one of the leading solutions for MySQL HA (High Availability), offering users:
An end-to-end, integrated stack of mature and proven open source technologies, fully supported by Oracle; Automatic failover and recovery for service continuity; Mirroring, via synchronous replication, to ensure failover between nodes without the risk of losing committed transactions; Building of HA clusters from commodity hardware, without the requirement for shared-storage.

This paper looks at the various types of data that modern businesses need to manage, examines the reasons why a model-driven approach to data management is necessary, and outlines the benefits such an approach provides. It also highlights how Oracle’s MySQL Workbench can be an indispensable aid in the hands of experienced data modelers, developers, and DBAs who are tasked with managing the complex data management infrastructure of a dynamic and growing business.

This program enables you to improve the security of your MySQL installation in the following ways: You can set a password for root accounts. You can remove root accounts that are accessible from outside the local host. You can remove anonymous-user accounts. You can remove the test database (which by default can be accessed by all users, even anonymous users), and privileges that permit anyone to access databases with names that start with test_.

MySQL does not have a built-in command to execute shell commands, as Microsoft SQL Server does. Nonetheless, I will show you how SQL injection can allow anyone to run arbitrary commands using standard features provided by MySQL.
First of all, I will give you a brief description of SQL injection. Then I will present you with a couple of less known methods that exist in MySQL, which I will use to open a backdoor to a webserver. I will use 2 built-in MySQL commands - one that writes arbitrary files and one that can be used to read arbitrary files. After that I will describe webshells and the attack itself.
