(Miller Magazine) "The wheat import ban, which began in Türkiye in June of last year, has impacted the Turkish flour industry, which has held the title of world flour export leader for years. According to the latest TURKSTAT data, Türkiye's flour exports in 2024 decreased by 20.9% in dollar terms, totaling $1.159 billion. In terms of volume, wheat flour exports dropped from 3.648 million tonnes in 2023 to 3.022 million tonnes in 2024, representing a 17.2% decline."

(International Grains Council) "Almost entirely because of adjustments for maize, the outlook for 2024/25 world total grains (wheat and coarse grains) production is lowered by 7m t m/m (month-on-month), to 2,305m. Total consumption is forecast at 2,335m t, 4m more than in November, mainly on a larger industrial (ethanol) use figure, but with food uptake also revised higher. Including downward adjustments for maize and barley, the estimate for carryover stocks (aggregate of respective local marketing years) is down by 3m t, to 573m."

(Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) "The FAO Food Price Index* (FFPI) stood at 127.0 points in December 2024, down 0.6 points (0.5 percent) from its November level, as decreases in the price indices for sugar, dairy products, vegetable oils and cereals more than offset increases in meat. The index stood 8.0 points (6.7 percent) above its corresponding level one year ago, yet remained 33.2 points (20.7 percent) below the peak reached in March 2022. For 2024 as a whole, the index recorded 122.0 points, 2.6 points (2.1 percent) lower than the average value in 2023."
