With the help of the Wayback Machine, which provides screenshots of any website imaginable from its inception until now, we’re can view the original designs and content of the most visited websites in the U.S."

I like this model and find it helpful.
However, I feel that there is one aspect, possibly implicit, which should be clarified. As an amateur author and an expert in my own small field, I believe that curation is more than just dealing with objects/articles/posts etc, of finding them and then burying them in archives. I believe that those involved in curation should not only be community watchers, discoverers, translators, preservers and collators but also that they should be evaluators and promoters of their discoveries. When I discover an item that attracts me, however abstruse, I look beyond the front cover to evaluate the content and wisdom of that artefact and then promote its existence to those of my readership of whom I feel may benefit. I believe that thisr model only appears to promote the traditional librarian skills of a neutral stewardship of resources rather than of a promoter of new-found learning or wisdom.

iFlow.com offers everyday web users the ability to discover, create, curate, and share realtime information on any subject — in a filtered and contextual way.
Like next-gen RSS.
iFlow allows users to follow ideas instead of individuals, in contrast to Twitter and Facebook, for example, taking the next step beyond the kind of realtime info streams we see on social networks, to apply that to rich data from any and all sources.
The consumer platform is built using Flow’s APIs and really functions as an example of the kind of realtime stream processing functionality developers can take advantage of when building their web and mobile apps.
