School libraries: A shift to digital

School libraries are making a noticeable shift toward digital collections in an effort to keep up with 21st century student collaboration.
Patricia Cruz's curator insight, September 16, 2023 5:07 PM
Education in every aspect is now offering technological or digital resources. We have seen the growth of resources since the pandemic. In order for children to get the maximum experience teachers and librarians must work together and create successful collaborative relationships. I was one of those students who was able to use an encyclopedia back in the day. Sometimes I have mixed thoughts on if I should actually have the physical books in my possession for the “What-ifs”. I am aware that you can do the same with digital books as you can with physical copies, but for some reason I like physical books better.

I think the way we physically 'do education' will shift once libraries like these catch on and in turn so wil lthe old pedagogical views that are being held on to (I hope)!

Danielle Lewis's curator insight, September 29, 2013 9:39 PM

Note the primary need for librarians as educators, educational leaders, developers of curriculum, and information managers continue.
