Sharing files with one or more colleagues can still be a hassle.
Anybody who has tried to share a large file with a friend or colleague understands all too well to the problems that are involved. Email attachments can get rejected, especially if you don't know what the upper limit on a file size is for sender or recipient. Uploads and downloads can be arbitrarily slow. And the clunkiness of the whole process makes it hard to get real work done.
In the bad old days, if you wanted to distribute files that were too hefty for your email to handle, you had few choices. You could buy some Web-hosting space and use that to distribute files on the fly to your coworkers and collaborators, you could burn a disc or copy the file to a USB drive and drop that in an envelope, or you could use that fabled legacy transport protocol, Sneakernet. Nowadays, however, there's a bevy of free services that offer tons of storage and bandwidth.

FileMaker is famous for being easy to use. That reputation is well-deserved. You can certainly create your own applications to solve business problems, or use one of the Starter Solutions out of the box. If you can use Excel, you can use FileMaker too. On the other hand, at some point you might find it useful to hire a professional developer or consultant to help build your solution.

Wouldn’t it be nice if whenever you need a parameter you could just ask for it by name? Lets say that you have a create order script and you want to pass the script the name, street and zip code of the customer. If you were stuck with just the regular old FileMaker functions there ain’t no way that’s happening. But after you are done with this post, you will be able to get the name of your customer with the simple function: GetParameter( "customerName" ).

FM Notify is an application designed by Richard Carlton Consulting, Inc. to work with FileMaker Go 12.
FM Notify extends the capabilities of FileMaker Go 12 by providing the ability to create and schedule systemwide iOS notifications from within FileMaker Go 12 solutions. Notifications can be scheduled for specific dates and times, and because the notifications are managed by iOS, the notifications occur even when FileMaker Go 12 is not running. When creating an iOS systemwide notification, FM Notify also lets FileMaker developers attach a FileMaker URL to the notification so the originating database will be re-opened when the user taps on the notification.
