‘Freedom framing’ more effective than mandates for vaccine-hesitant Americans.

For vaccine-hesitant individuals, framing vaccination as a tool that enables personal freedom is associated with higher acceptance than framing it as a social responsibility or a government recommendation.

The study found that framing a vaccine as a way to preserve personal freedom increased willingness to vaccinate among hesitant groups by six percentage points compared to traditional framing methods.

Yesterday, on #EuropeanPatientsRightsDay, Active Citizenship Network, a member of the Mission Board on Vaccination in Europe, brought together policymakers, patient advocates and health experts to discuss personalised prevention 🧬🩺

Drawing on evidence from the EU-funded #PROPHET project, participants explored prevention as a fundamental patients’ right, building on the principles of the European Charter of Patients’ Rights.

Misinformation around vaccines is deadly.
If one is to ask for accountability, it should be willing to be held accountable as well. Children's Health Defense is pushing a dangerous narrative that leads to vaccine mistrust which can lead to decrease vaccination rates, and such to death. As living proof, no one in the 21th century should die of measles. And is is happening... Being called out for such is not misinformation. LinkedIn is clearly missing the point here and caving to anti-vaxxers. Doing so is going against their own policy stating ¨ Do not share content that directly contradicts guidance from leading global health organizations and public health authorities; including false information about the safety or efficacy of vaccines or medical treatments. ¨If LinkedIn would enforce their own policy, there would be no Children's Health Defense, no McCullough Foundation, no Physicians for Informed Consent, no #philipmcmillan, no #nicolashulscher, and no Vejon Health Ltd on this platform.

This is another way anti-vaccine efforts are, literally, killing babies.
"They entered the world the way babies should, with piercing cries announcing their arrival. They passed their newborn screening tests. Some made it to their 2-week wellness visits without concern.

Then, without warning, their systems began to shut down. A 7-week-old boy in Maryland developed sudden seizures. An 11-pound girl in Alabama stopped breathing for 20 seconds at a time. A baby boy in Kentucky vomited before becoming lethargic. A brown-haired girl in Texas, not yet 2 weeks old, bled around her belly button.

Desperate to save them, records show, doctors inserted tubes into their airways and hooked them up to IVs. They ordered blood transfusions. They spent half an hour trying to resuscitate one boy until his parents told them they could stop. They shaved another boy’s soft locks to embed a needle directly into his skull to reduce the pressure in his brain.


None of it was enough.

At the morgue, the babies were brought in with their diapers and blankets and with their hospital ID bracelets still wrapped around their tiny ankles. The pathologists’ findings were like those you would typically see in ailing adults, not newborns — the kind of bleeding seen during strokes or brain tissue loss similar to what happens when radiation is administered to treat cancer.

Their autopsies, which took place over the last several years, all came to the same conclusion: The deaths were caused, in whole or in part, by a rare but potentially fatal condition known as vitamin K deficiency bleeding.

In almost every case, the babies’ deaths could have been prevented with a long-standard vitamin K shot. But across the country, families — first in smatterings, now in droves — are declining the single, inexpensive injection given at birth to newborns to help their blood clot.

Many of them are doing so out of a well-meaning but ill-informed abundance of caution. In the hopes of safeguarding their newborns from what they see as unnecessary medical intervention, they have shunned fundamental and scientifically sound pharmaceutical intervention. The trend is also fueled by a contradictory pairing: families’ fierce desire to protect their babies and a cascade of false information infused into their social media algorithms."

Vaccination isn't just about medicine; in Pointe-Noire, Congo-Brazzaville, it's about trust too.

When faced with a public battling misinformation, community health workers are proving that genuine dialogue is the most powerful tool against vaccine hesitancy.

The numbers tell a story of persistence: every month, 70-80 children in the city fall behind on routine immunisations. Many receive their first dose, but don't go back to complete their full vaccination schedule.
The reason why? Misinformation and rumours often create a barrier of fear that stops families from returning to the clinic.

But thanks to dedicated outreach, usually on doorsteps, in alleyways and in quiet conversations between neighbours, nearly 90% of those kids are reached and protected.

Le plus grand allié des opérations de désinformation… ce sont parfois ceux qui pensent les combattre.

Une grande partie des opérations informationnelles échouent. Je le constate tous les jours dans les sujets que je suis pour mes clients, grandes et petites entreprises, CAC 40, ETI, PME ... la déstabilisation est permanente, mais souvent heureusement elle ne prend pas.

Parce qu’en réalité, lancer une campagne de manipulation efficace est extrêmement difficile :

📣 il faut un bon narratif ;
📣 le bon timing ;
📣 comprendre les algorithmes ;
📣 disposer de relais crédibles ;
📣 réussir à créer une dynamique organique.

La plupart des attaques restent confinées à quelques comptes obscurs, forums marginaux ou réseaux militants. Et c'est une bonne chose.

Les acteurs malveillants ne parviennent souvent pas à obtenir de la visibilité.
Ils ont donc besoin d’un accélérateur.

Et cet accélérateur est parfois inattendu :

📰 un média en parle ;
🎙️ un influenceur s’indigne ;
🧠  des “experts” commentent ;
✅ des fact-checkers démontent la manipulation.

Et soudain… l’opération obtient une visibilité qu’elle n’aurait jamais eue seule.

Quelques exemples récents :

➡️ Le rapport de l'américain Newsguard sur les LLM évoquait globalement les limites de l’IA face aux fake news. Pourtant, les médias français ont surtout pointé le seul acteur français de l'étude.

➡️ Une prétendue fuite massive de données visant un acteur majeur français du secteur de la défense, publiée par un profil inconnu sur un forum douteux, a explosé uniquement après sa reprise par des spécialistes du secteur.

➡️ L’opération russe visant un candidat des municipales à Paris, accusé de vouloir transformer le Centre Pompidou en centre d’accueil pour migrants, était presque invisible… jusqu’à sa médiatisation.

Un ancien étudiant de l'EGE, Khalid OUCHENIR, travaille sur un outil de caractérisation des attaques informationnelles, en utilisant les données collectées par Visibrain.

Le visuel ci-dessous montre la diffusion de l'attaque concernant le centre Pompidou et les migrants : avant la reprise médiatique, on voit bien que la visibilité du sujet était quasi-nulle.

Le paradoxe est là :

👉 lorsqu’on “dément”,
👉 lorsqu’on “fact-check”,
👉 lorsqu’on “alerte”…

… on contribue souvent à installer le doute dans l’esprit du public.
Et c’est exactement le but recherché :

⚠️ fragiliser la confiance ;
🏛️ décrédibiliser nos institutions ;
🏭 attaquer nos entreprises ;
🔥 polariser les débats publics.

Peut-être qu’il est temps de changer de réflexe collectif :

❌ arrêter de transformer chaque intox marginale en sujet national ;
❌ cesser de donner une portée artificielle à des campagnes ratées ;
✅ concentrer l’attention sur les opérations réellement structurantes.

Parce qu’à force de vouloir dénoncer toutes les manipulations… on finit parfois par faire le travail des manipulateurs.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a lawyer and politician, 𝑵𝑶𝑻 a medical doctor, immunologist, epidemiologist, or vaccine researcher. He doesn’t have any formal training in:

   ☑️   vaccine development
   ☑️   clinical trials
   ☑️   immunology
   ☑️   public health science

His stance on vaccines most likely comes from a mix of long-held beliefs, personal focus areas, and how he interprets risk and evidence—rather than from mainstream scientific consensus.

All of these are subjective, not objective, as science should always be.

A few key factors behind his position, which may influence his decision making:

   ☑️   He built his career focusing on pollution and toxins. That perspective being highly cautious about chemicals and exposures — this is then carried over into how he views vaccines.

   ☑️   He has argued for years that vaccines are not tested rigorously enough or may have harmful effects. These claims are widely disputed by the scientific and medical community, which points to extensive evidence that vaccines are generally safe and effective.

   ☑️   He has a deep mistrust of institutions and has frequently expressed scepticism toward pharmaceutical companies and government regulators, believing they may downplay risks or have conflicts of interest.

   ☑️   Once someone publicly commits to a position, especially at that level, it often becomes part of their identity and platform, and they continue to build arguments that support it. So regardless of the evidence, the position remains the same.

It’s important to note that 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 as one of the most effective public health tools, with rigorous testing, monitoring, and ongoing safety evaluation.

So his stance isn’t coming from formal expertise in vaccine science—it’s more about his worldview (risk, trust, institutions) and how he interprets the evidence, which differs significantly from mainstream medicine.

Does any of this matter. Well yes, actually, it really matters.

Vaccines are 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭.

Not in an abstract, “science is nice” kind of way.

In a very practical, “this is why millions of people are alive” kind of way.
Vaccines have been responsible for:

   ☑️   Eradicating smallpox (one of the deadliest diseases in human history)
   ☑️   Nearly eliminating polio in most of the world
   ☑️   Dramatically reducing diseases like measles, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough

More than six years since the devastating COVID pandemic killed more than a million Americans, there are questions and concerns about a new viral outbreak that started on a cruise ship and has put nearly 20 Americans in the hospital. The illness is called hantavirus.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is working with healthcare professional organizations and learned societies to create a communication tool focused on vaccines.

'Vaccine Essentials' aims to enhance vaccine science literacy by utilizing vaccine science and regulation to tackle information gaps and concerns identified by healthcare professionals.

Sur YouTube, mentir rapporte 11 fois plus qu'une source fiable de même taille, en comparaison sur X/Twitter c’est 10 fois plus et sur Facebook, c’est 9 fois plus.

Ce mécanisme a un nom : la prime à la désinformation. Et selon le rapport SIMODS 2 publié en mars 2026 par Science Feedback, elle ne fait qu'augmenter.

Ce n'est pas une question de naïveté ou d'inattention. C'est une question de conception : les algorithmes sont faits pour maximiser l'engagement, pas la vérité. Et le faux, le choquant, le clivant — ça engage.

Alors que les débats sur l'encadrement des réseaux se concentrent souvent sur le temps d'écran, un mécanisme beaucoup plus discret continue de travailler en arrière-plan… dans le fil de tout le monde, y compris celui de vos enfants.

👉 25% des contenus sur TikTok sont trompeurs 
👉 24% de cette désinformation contient de l'IA — et presque personne ne le signale 
👉 182 millions de commentaires toxiques analysés en 2025, Facebook et YouTube en tête

Interdire ne suffit pas.

Words matter in public health. They matter everywhere, all of the time, but probably most in public health.

One of the most concerning trends emerging in recent months is not only the policy changes surrounding vaccines, but the apparent suppression, delay, or reframing of scientific communication itself.

This recent article from CIDRAP highlights growing concern among physicians, researchers, and public health experts that inconsistent messaging and interference with scientific communication may further erode public trust in vaccines and health institutions.

As someone with roots in journalism and a career in continuing medical education, I think often about what happens downstream when scientific communication becomes fragmented, politicized, or difficult to trust.

Clinicians are already navigating an overwhelming volume of rapidly evolving information. CME exists, in part, to help healthcare professionals critically evaluate evidence, contextualize new data, and translate it into patient care with clarity and confidence.

Ultimately, the goal of medical education today is no longer simply knowledge acquisition. It is behavior change: improving clinical decision-making, strengthening provider-patient communication, and supporting evidence-based care that leads to better patient outcomes.

BUT, meaningful behavior change depends on something fundamental: trust in the integrity and accessibility of the underlying science.

When public trust in scientific institutions weakens, the ripple effects extend far beyond headlines. They influence clinician confidence, patient conversations, vaccine decision-making, and ultimately public health outcomes.

Clear, evidence-based communication isn’t ancillary to healthcare. It’s part of the infrastructure.

Odd, no mention of the fact that antivax "experts" are satuarating social media, including LI with misinformation about HPV vaccine. I feel badly for the young ladies in these southern states who will be geting cervical cancer deades from now becuase their parents were mislead by RFLJ and his fake physician experts.

Un grand bravo au témoin, et que son retour à la réalité soit le moins douloureux possible (témoigner est une idée magnifique et courageuse)...
