The Gates Foundation has announced a commitment of $1.6 billion over the next five years to support Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance’s worldwide crusade to inject children and “the world’s most vulnerable communities” with vaccines.

The move comes after a recent Gates Foundation–funded human trial in South Africa injected children with live tuberculosis-family bacteria, infecting 260 kids—while earlier Gates-backed gain-of-function research had already engineered tuberculosis strains to grow uncontrollably.

Another case where claims of religious exemptions, that religion denies by way, are being dismissed by the courts. The Maine workers filed the lawsuit in 2021, claiming the vaccine mandate violated the First Amendment’s free speech provisions and the Fourteenth Amendment’s equal protection and due process clauses. Funny that, as religion denies that religious exemptions do exist, such claims should be denied by any employer. Being more Catholic than the Pope is really a stupid approach here…

‏"When a new vaccine is being assessed, one of the most important questions people have is “what are the long-term effects?”

But if the vaccine is new, how can we possibly learn about long-term effects. There isn’t any long-term data (yet!)?

The answer lies in an important epidemiology concept called person-time.

Person-time is a technical term for a category of units of measurement which describe not just how many people we have sampled, or how much time we have data for, but a combination of the two things.

We can use any time scale to define person-time units: person-days, person-months, person-years (this last one is the most common). And, we can convert between these person-time measures: 1 person-year = 12 person-months = 365 person-days. And vice versa.

For example, if we collect data from one person for ten days, we have 10 person-days of data. If we collect data from one person for 2 years, we have 2 person-years of data, or we can say we have 24 person-months of data.

The other important property of person-time is that we assume person-time is interchangeable. That is, we assume that we can treat a unit of person-time the same regardless of whose data it comes from.

This means that when we collect one person’s data for 10 days we have 10 person-days of data, and if we instead collected data from ten people for one day each, we also have 10 person-days of data. Or, if we collected data from five people for two days each, we would still have 10 person-days of data."

Rep. Kim Schrier (D-Wash.) on Tuesday tore into Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for his decades of lies about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, saying she will blame him every time someone dies from a vaccine-preventable disease on his watch.
“You have lied to the American people,” Schrier, who is a pediatrician, charged as Kennedy sat silently before a House committee. “You have lied to parents about vaccines for 20 years.”

“And I also want to be clear that I will lay all responsibility for every death from a vaccine-preventable illness at your feet,” she said.

Sometimes, in the quiet moments between crafting social media posts about vaccines or preparing talks on health misinformation, I entertain a troubling thought experiment. Inevitably, at least a few times a week (typically when I post about vaccines), I get a similar string of comments: "You seem like a good person with good intentions, but you've been brainwashed by the scientific establishment. From the time you were in school, you were taught fabricated studies and false narratives. The entire system is designed to deceive, and you don't even realize it."

What if they're right? What if everything I've learned, everything I believe about science and public health, is indeed the product of systematic indoctrination? What if the studies I cite, the methods I trust, the very framework through which I understand health and disease—what if it's all an elaborate construction designed to serve interests I can't even see?

‏Vaccination: the level of mistrust RFK Jr claims is far from the reality. But it is politically driven. And as for vaccine safety, 91% of Americans believe they are safe.

79 percent of Americans believe parents should be required to vaccinate their children against preventable diseases to attend school. That includes 72 percent of all parents.
The support cuts across political party lines, with backing from 90 percent of Democrats, 68 percent of Republicans and 66 percent who say they agree with “Make America Great Again,” the political ideology movement aligned with President Donald Trump.

“While we do show really strong support for vaccines, 79 percent is a little low compared to what we actually need to get herd immunity,” Castrucci said. “And so there’s a lot of work to be done in taking something that we know protects our country and protects our children.”
Among those who support childhood vaccine requirements, vaccine effectiveness in protecting most children (90 percent) and family responsibilities to keep schools safe (87 percent) were major reasons for their positions.
American adults also overwhelmingly, at 91 percent, believed in the safety of vaccines for most children.‏

‏Yannick NEUDER, je sais, c'est pas votre jour, mais cette nouvelle ignominie de Denis Agret, médecin généraliste, définitivement radié par la chambre disciplinaire du Conseil national de l'Ordre des médecins le 26 septembre 2024 après avoir fait appel d'une condamnation en première instance d'une interdiction d'exercer la médecine pour une durée de 3 ans prononcée en 2022, devrait vous faire réagir et mobiliser les tutelles compétentes à la gestion des agissements répréhensibles d'un homme dont chacun des tweets montre à quel point celui-ci peut être dangereux.

Pour rappel, Denis Agret a fait l'objet de poursuites judiciaires et de cette radiation pour ses positions antivax, pour son opposition aux règles de distanciation et aux gestes barrières incluant notamment le port obligatoire du masque au cours de la phase la plus critique de la pandémie de #Covid19.
Non content de son prosélytisme antivax, il a également persisté à prescrire le cocktail hydroxychloroquine + azythromycine de son idole Didier Raoult en y ajoutant ses variantes personnelles, et ce, malgré l'interdiction prononcée conjointement par l'ANSM Agence nationale de sécurité du médicament et des produits de santé et la Haute Autorité de Santé.

Mais Denis Agret, comme la quasi-totalité des autres petits gourous de l'anti-science n'est pas seulement opposé aux vaccins à ARNm mais à toute forme de vaccination ou d'immunisation, s'opposant notamment, comme Tatie Neuneu Banoun (pharmacienne en retraite de l'Inserm !) au Beyfortus en prévention des formes sévères de bronchiolite à virus syncitial respiratoire (RSV).

Après avoir tenté de cacher ses déboires au groupe Filieris et tenté une installation à Decazeville au sein d'une structure de ce groupe d'hospitalisation rattaché à l'industrie minière, Denis Agret s'en prend de façon toujours plus virulente, et en s'inscrivant en faux par rapport à l'état des connaissances scientifiques, à toutes les campagnes de vaccination, que celles-ci concernent l'hépatite B, la prévention des cancers induits par les papillomavirus humains et désormais contre les maladies infectieuses infantiles avec l'argument parfaitement stupide et honteux que la vaccination serait responsable de la maladie.

Yannick NEUDER, Conseil national de l'Ordre des médecins, comment pouvez-vous encore laisser s'exprimer librement ce dangereux polichinelle ? L'exemple des Etats-Unis ou celui de la Roumanie ne vous suffisent-ils pas ? En influençant les esprits les plus faibles, les personnes les plus crédules, cet individu toxique met en péril la santé publique.

And it was back to those Covid days that Rogan was harking in this conversation with Woody Harrelson (sob).

Rogan remembered querying why he should take vaccination advice from a doctor – specifically, the renowned scientist Dr Peter Hotez – when the doctor he was speaking to didn’t look especially healthy themselves.

‏We had concerns about Vicky Pebworth on the ACIP committee. Her questions today confirmed why. Dr. Vicky Pebsworth is a registered nurse and health policy expert with more than three decades of experience. While she holds a PhD from the University of Michigan and has held roles as an ICU nurse, healthcare administrator, and research scientist, she is a known anti-vaxxer. Pebsworth is a board member of the National Association of Catholic Nurses (NACN-USA) and the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC- formerly called “Dissatisfied Parents Together”), a group known for advocating vaccine safety and parental choice, and for raising concerns about vaccine risks. She has also served as a consumer representative on the FDA’s vaccine advisory committee, where she has spoken about her son’s health issues following routine childhood immunizations.
Pebsworth’s selection is a source of controversy based on her leadership role at NVIC. Critics argue that her affiliation signals a shift toward greater skepticism about vaccines within the ACIP. Abram Wagner, PhD, MPH, a University of Michigan vaccine researcher, called her appointment “incredibly problematic” due to NVIC’s history of spreading vaccine misinformation.‏

Our research aims to reverse the decline in immunisation coverage in children, increase vaccine uptake in adults and reduce inequalities in the vaccine service.

There are very few medical reasons not to have a COVID-19 vaccine. Some reasons include a history of severe allergic reactions, pericarditis, or endocarditis following a prior COVID-19 vaccine.

People considering a COVID-19 vaccine may worry about complications and side effects. Yet for almost all individuals, the known risks of getting COVID-19 far outweigh any potential risks of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The risks of COVID-19 are even higher for people with chronic health conditions or other medical conditions that weaken their immune systems.

The list of medical reasons not to get a vaccine is very short, but some people may be eligible for a vaccine exemption. A person can discuss their potential risks with a doctor.

In some countries, you can’t say no to certain vaccines.

Why?
Because voluntary vaccination rates have dropped, and that poses a risk—not just to individuals, but to entire communities.

💉 This of course is no stranger to bioethics, since it poses a dilemma: how to finf the right balance between individual autonomy and collective safety?

💉The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) might have the answer: it ruled in Vavřička and Others v the Czech Republic that obligatory vaccination is considered legitimate interference, especially when it's about protecting public health—the so-called greater good.

It's just another reminder that law, bioethics and health converge more than you think!

Pourquoi ?

Parce que les taux de vaccination volontaires ont diminué, et cela représente un risque — pas seulement pour les individus, mais pour l'ensemble des communautés.

💉 Bien entendu, cela touche de près la bioéthique, car cela soulève un dilemme : comment trouver le bon équilibre entre l'autonomie individuelle et la sécurité collective ?

💉 La Cour européenne des droits de l'homme (CEDH) pourrait avoir la réponse : elle a statué dans l'affaire Vavřička et autres contre la République tchèque que la vaccination obligatoire est considérée comme une ingérence légitime, surtout lorsqu'il s'agit de protéger la santé publique — le bien commun.

Cela nous rappelle encore une fois que le droit, la bioéthique et la santé convergent bien plus que l’on ne pense !
