The topic addresses Fake news as a global problem, extracting material focusing on vaccinations, vaccination hesitancy and anti-vax attitudes. The subject is evolving constantly with health consequences all over the world.

This topic became a research action project at CREM (Centre de Recherche sur les médiations)

Ir covers not only Fake News still thriving on the internet,

but also efforts of many (supranational bodies, scientific societies, researchers...) to improve health literacies of laypeople, and medical students on this sensitive topic...

"Investigators allege Shaw intentionally killed the children, while earlier public statements referenced concerns about possible vaccine-related causes.

Weis explained that forensic pathology can often distinguish between suffocation and a medical event.

"If someone suffocates someone, there's usually going to be some marks on the body," he said.
He pointed to petechial hemorrhaging, bruising, and pressure marks around the mouth and nose as potential indicators investigators examine in suspected suffocation cases.

By comparison, Weis said a fatal medical reaction would likely produce a different set of findings.

"You might have anaphylactic shock. You might have myocarditis," he said.

Weis emphasized that investigators spent more than a year examining the case before charges were filed.

"This was a 14-month investigation," he said. "This wasn't a rush to judgment."

He added that the autopsy findings will ultimately be critical in determining the cause of death.

Asked whether he had ever seen vaccines successfully argued as the cause of death in a homicide investigation, Weis said he had not."

It’s debunking time. Consider:

1. "nanotech, hydrogel, and other garbage" were not visible on the slide this person was examining. Normal structures were seen and misinterpreted by the reader (see below).

2. Being “unjabbed” should protect one from contamination. That’s… the entire point of the antivax movement. While people can shed viruses when infected, they cannot shed nanotech, hydrogel, or other *nonliving* garbage in any way that could infect others around them, -especially if they also don’t have those things in their blood either (see below).

Dark-field microscopy (DCM) has historic medical significance in the diagnosis of syphilis, and remains widely used in materials science (crystallography, etc…) but it has been co-opted by pseudoscience -most notably for a practice called "live blood analysis," or "Enderlein darkfield analysis."

Scientific investigation of DCM has yielded some interesting results:

* When blinded, DCM practitioners paradoxically identified more pathogens in blood from healthy controls (where DNA testing confirmed that no pathogens existed), than they did in samples that other DCM practitioners previously identified pathogens in (which comically also had almost no pathogens).

* Moving, refractive structures seen in blood under dark-field microscopy are membrane vesicles and protein aggregates from normal blood components. Over time, these structures increase in number as blood decays on the slide, creating an illusion of "growth" or even "self-assembly" as they aggregate.

Objectivity can feel cruel, but BasedMama can’t see the haters -because it’s dark.

Also, she didn’t write that to me. Different Casey.

Sometimes the best leadership advice isn't found in a textbook or graduate school.
It's four simple words:
Just talk to them.
Those words were shared with me by one of the smartest and kindest people I've ever had the privilege to work with, and it's advice I still rely on more than 25 years later.
In my latest Public Health Career Lab, I reflect on why face-to-face communication still matters, how it builds trust, strengthens relationships, and can shape your career in ways technology never will.
Whether you're just starting your public health journey or have been in the field for decades, I hope this message resonates with you.

* des " savoirs ancestraux "
* des " associations spirituelles "
* de la Kundalini
* du " yoga Traditionnel " ( la plupart du temps, aucune indication de la branche du yoga )
* des " thérapies énergétiques " ( lesquelles ? Mystère !!! )

* le secteur du " marché de la mort ": expression de mon cru désignant ces acteurs qui ont pour cible les personnes endeuillées.

C'est un véritable secteur économique et il n'y a pas que des médiums qui vous promettent une mise en relation avec la personne décédée, notamment votre enfant.

Mistrust isn't a deficit in the public. It's the outgrowth of a perception that promises were broken and values were violated.

I wrote a synopsis of my keynote at #IFPH2026, on why I think information ecosystems are a matter of relationships, why frontline staff is the first mile of understanding rather than the last mile of delivery, and how we need to think about coalitions.

With thanks to Arpana Verma, Greg Williams and the organizing team — and to Shannon Turner (PhD), whose slide put it better than I did: relationships are infrastructure.

The psychology of viral disinformation: Decoding the rhetorical package of hate (newtral.es):

https://lnkd.in/dniXwX8H

Glimpse: The current study examines the psychological factors that contributed to the spread of false information during the disturbance in Torre Pacheco, Spain, in July 2025. Eight recurrent mechanisms—cherry-picking, in-group/out-group framing, false consensus, unjustified causal inferences, emotional activation, dehumanization, and calls to action—are found in the study, which analyzes 288,347 social media messages and 175 TikTok videos by combining Newtral's fact-checking expertise with researchers from the University of Granada. The majority of posts on X (74.4%), TikTok (71.4%), and Telegram (83.6%) used at least one such technique, according to the results, and almost all calls to action (99–100%) included dehumanizing or disparaging language. Particularly on X and Telegram, a tiny fraction of users produced a disproportionate amount of damaging content. In order to accurately identify these mechanisms, the research also created a validated AI classification model (Spanish RoBERTa) that was trained on expert-annotated samples. Overall, the study provides a paradigm for comprehending and combating the cognitive dynamics of disinformation by illuminating how psychological cues incorporated into online messages intensify prejudice, incite violence, and hasten the dissemination of false narratives.

AI, Social Media, and the Growing Challenge of Online Misinformation (Hive Digital):

https://lnkd.in/dRg_sSxp

Glimpse: This essay looks at how social media dynamics driven by AI hasten the dissemination of false information online, changing public opinion and undermining confidence in digital information ecosystems. It describes the technical and psychological elements—such as confirmation bias, emotional amplification, and engagement-optimized recommendation systems—that leave users susceptible to bogus material. The paper emphasizes how generative AI technologies have made it easier to create convincing synthetic material, which has led to an increase in the quantity and complexity of false information. Additionally, it examines new mitigating techniques such platform-level transparency measures, media literacy programs, and AI-assisted content verification. The research concludes that in order to enhance resistance against misleading digital narratives, combating AI-fueled misinformation necessitates a unified strategy that integrates technical safeguards, user education, and responsible platform governance.

Is Anti-Vaxx Really Anti-Science? | George Niles Mekeel | Hésitations Vaccinales: Observatoire HESIVAXs | Scoop.it
Vaccines have encountered resistance ever since they were invented in the late eighteenth century.

But vaccine skepticism has never been as vocal—or as widespread—as it has become in the United States in recent years.

Much of that has to do with the policies of the Trump administration, in particular Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., whose drastic changes at the CDC have reversed decades of American vaccination policy.

But what explains such broad receptivity to vaccine skepticism among wide swaths of Americans?

On this episode, Commonweal associate editor Regina Munch speaks with
Kiera Ganga Kieffer a professor of religious studies at Fairfield University. Her new book, "Unvaccinated Under God", offers a provocative reading of the history of vaccine hesitancy in America.

Anti-vaccination beliefs are less a matter of scientific misinformation, Kieffer argues, than
forms of religious expression, in which vaccines themselves become proxies for broader existential concerns about justice and morality.

Happy Tin Foil Tuesday!

I have spent my whole life with soulless chemists trying to convince me that chemicals are nothing to be afraid of.

Some of these absolute head cases even claim...

"You are made of chemicals."

Nice try.

I was not born yesterday.

Every time I look at a chemical I see words like toxic, mutagen, reproductive toxicity, carcinogen, and other terrifying things I do not understand.

That is all the evidence I need.

Do not start explaining toxicology either.

Apparently dose matters.

Apparently exposure matters.

Apparently hazard is not the same as risk.

That all sounds suspiciously like chemistry.

And while you are at it, stop telling me everything around me is made of chemicals.

Water?
Chemical.

Oxygen?
Chemical.

Vitamin C?
Chemical.

Proteins?
Chemicals.

Nice try, Big Chemistry.

I know exactly what happens if I start believing that nonsense.
Next thing you know I'll be turning into a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

Although, to be fair, free pizza and hiding in the sewers away from marketing departments does sound quite appealing.

Personally, I think this whole "cleaning" thing is just another conspiracy invented by Big Cleaning.

Think about it.

Have you ever actually seen dirt attack anyone?

Exactly.

If your family refuse to visit because your kitchen worktop has developed its own ecosystem, that is their problem.

Thankfully, there are now heroes among us producing chemical free cleaning products.

Finally.

Pure magic in a bottle.

No chemicals.

Just... whatever magic is made from.
Please, whatever you do, do not tell me that water is a chemical.

Or that I am made of chemicals.
Or that "chemical free" is scientifically meaningless.
Or that many synthetic chemicals are actually safer than their natural alternatives because they are purer, more consistent, and better studied.
Or that toxicology evaluates substances on a case by case basis rather than whether they came from a plant or a laboratory.

That sort of evidence based thinking is exactly why I have had to upgrade my tin foil hat.

Happy Tin Foil Tuesday. | 29 comments on LinkedIn

Drawing on perspectives from experts in AI governance, cybersecurity, health informatics, public digital infrastructure, and health equity, the article argues that participation depends on more than evidence alone.

These ideas continue to inform how we design and enhance the Evolution Health infrastructure - from co-design and cultural adaptation to privacy, transparency, and long-term engagement.

The challenge in infectious diseases today is often not a lack of scientific knowledge.

We know how to prevent measles. We know how to contain Ebola. We know how to reduce Legionnaires’ disease risk. We understand the principles behind foodborne outbreak detection and response.

The challenge is maintaining the institutions, systems, and public trust required to put that knowledge into practice.

This week’s infectious disease roundup explores that theme through several stories that, at first glance, appear unrelated but ultimately point to the same conclusion: the systems that protect us must be continually defended, renewed, and improved.

Why Patients Trust Influencers More Than Qualified Doctors Online.

Not because they know more.
But because they communicate better.
Influencers:
– Speak in simple language
– Show up consistently
– Build relatability

Doctors:
– Use complex terms
– Post inconsistently
– Focus only on information

So patients understand influencers
and trust them more.
The problem isn’t your knowledge.
It’s how you present it.

If patients can’t understand you
they won’t choose you.
Start simplifying.
Start showing up.
Start building trust.

I help healthcare professionals turn their knowledge into content that builds trust and brings patients.

From Research to Reality:
Why I Will Always Advocate for Measles-Rubella Vaccination
Some lessons begin in the classroom, while others are learned through life. For me, the importance of measles-rubella vaccination became real through both experiences.
A few years ago, during my postgraduate studies, I delivered a seminar presentation on rubella-measles vaccination, the attitudes toward vaccination, and the existing gaps in Nigeria. I spent weeks reading scientific literature, understanding vaccine hesitancy, and learning about the devastating effects of vaccine-preventable diseases on children and communities. At the time, it was an academic exercise that deepened my appreciation for immunization, but I had no idea that one day I would experience its importance as a mother.

When my son was born, I made a commitment to follow the national immunization schedule. I ensured he received his routine vaccines because I believed in the science and understood the protection they provide. It gave me peace of mind knowing I was doing everything possible to safeguard his health.

Just few weeks ago—my son developed measles.

As a mother, watching your child battle an illness is heartbreaking. The fever, the rash, the discomfort, and the anxiety of wondering how he would recover are moments I will never forget. My heart ached with every cry, and I wished I could take away his pain.

Yet, in the midst of that difficult experience, I found comfort in one important fact: he had been vaccinated. Although he contracted measles, the vaccination had already reduced the risk of severe disease. Thankfully, he recovered without the severe complications that measles can cause, such as pneumonia, brain inflammation, blindness, or even death. I often think about how different the outcome could have been if he had not received his routine immunizations.

That experience transformed my academic knowledge into personal conviction. It reminded me that vaccines are not just injections given during childhood—they are a shield that can reduce the severity of disease and save lives.

Today, Nigeria continues to face challenges with vaccine acceptance and access. Misinformation, fear, and missed immunization appointments leave many children at risk of illnesses that are preventable. Every child who misses a vaccine is another child who remains vulnerable.

As someone who has studied this subject and lived through the experience, my message to every parent and caregiver is simple: please do not skip your child's routine immunizations. Vaccination is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child. It is an investment in their health, their future, and the well-being of the entire community.

My son's experience strengthened my belief in immunization rather than weakening it. It reminded me that vaccines work—not always by preventing every infection, but by protecting children from the most severe consequences of diseases.

Let us continue to protect our children.
