FARGO - Connie DeKrey rolls something special into her pies. They start out typical, with an oil-based crust, and she uses the freshest fruits. She cuts her signature ventilation lines in each pie – four long lines and small ones in between – and they bake until they’re golden brown. The secret...

From Corvettes to Aston Martins, the rising prices commanded by classic cars — especially unrestored, mostly original examples — has created a goldmine for those who hunt for old vehicles rotting away unattended in some barn. Today, a French auction house revealed a discovery it called the King Tut of barn finds; a treasure trove of 60 European cars, including a rare Ferrari missing for decades, that had been slowly decaying in western France.

I know a lot of people look forward to Christmas simply because they can rotate their regular collections, swapping out the usual for holiday decorations.

John Bunyan is better known for his Pilgrim's Progress, but his "Holy War..." is similar: A classic Christian allegorical novel. This 1857 decorative edition is bound in bright red cloth boards with a gilded spine. It belonged to a Susan Angelica Getty, whose name is inscribed in the front and who seems to have used the book as a keepsake album: It contains 8 different locks of hair. I also found a sentimental poem cut from a newspaper and a large, four leaf clover pressed between the book's many pages.
