Rayonier (NYSE:RYN) today reported fourth quarter net income of $56 million, or 45 cents per share, compared to $59 million, or 48 cents per share, in the prior year period. Full year 2011 net income totaled $276 million, or $2.20 per share, compared to $218 million, or $1.79 per share, in 2010.

In Uronen's opinion, Russia has many opportunities, but the risks are considerable. "They apply to wood acquisition and logistics." "The timber tariffs and the behaviour linked with them will certainly not increase confidence. Hopefully the whole thing will go away, but it does have an impact on the willingness of companies to invest", Uronen says.

The property was acquired for just over $6.6 million, or $2,658 per acre, from an investment fund managed by The Forestland Group. According to the story, it is part of a larger property that the fund bought in 2008 for $2,092 per acre.
