Great infoSocial media is an ever-changing beast. You almost can’t have a business in this day and age without a presence in the online world and specifically, at least, one of the big eight social media sites. Gone are the days where only teens frequented MySpace to chat with friends. Social media is here to stay, and people are looking online for your business so you’d better present your best.

Not everything is bad. Same as, not everything is good. There is the good in bad. And there is the bad in good. It’s not necessarily the worst idea to help people. But it’s also neither a great one. And here are the 3 cases where I personally stopped helping people and recommend that you should too
From posting a photo of my "amazung view of the muntains" to sending an email prematurely, I know that feeling of regret all too well.
We're all trying to maintain control of our online footprint as best we can. But with so many opportunities to mess up on the web, it's easy to make silly tech mistakes from time to time.
Luckily for us, there are ways to correct some of these embarrassing slip-ups. I consulted my colleagues and scoured the web (hat tip to you, PureWow) to find the following tech hacks that are so simple and yet so life-changing, you won't believe you ever lived without them....
If your aim is to reach a younger demographic, specifically 18-34 year olds, then Snapchat is the place to be. Not only is the app growing quickly, but the users are extremely engaged. In fact, 65% of Snapchat users upload Snaps.
The challenge with Snapchat marketing is figuring out how to use the app in a way that engages users and drives action without being overly promotional. Even though the app has been around since 2011, Snapchat marketing is still very new since the app didn’t take off until 2014 and 2015....

Monitoring social media is hard. The person monitoring your social media must have a balance of industry knowledge, customer aptitude, resourcefulness and marketing/diplomacy skills. As a one to one interaction, monitoring can also be a patience game. Monitoring, however, is one of themost important things you can do on social media.
This is especially important, since 70% of Twitter users surveyed by Search Engine Watch expect a brand to respond to a question on Twitter. Of those folks, 53% of those want a response within an hour. Yikes.
There is good news: it IS possible to monitor social media with limited time and resources. I know this from experience here at HubSpot. People are often surprised to hear HubSpot has such a small social media team (right now a team of one!). In this post, I'll give an overview ofwho, what and how we monitor on social media using Social Inbox....
So how can you keep making the most of social media without interrupting your workflow?
At Creative Boom, automation is our secret. Not automation that makes it obvious that we’re automating everything… which can sometimes seem worse than not saying anything at all. No. The kind of clever automation that makes it look like we’re naturally updating our social media channels, when in actual fact we’re elsewhere, attending a client meeting and not even looking at our smartphones.
I’ve put together the following helpful tips — based on our own experiences — that will show you how to automate your social media without giving the game away, so you can save time and get on with being creative…...
I’m a bit embarrassed to share my early Pinterest Pins. But here they are anyway.
A pin loaded with hashtags, a really odd-sized image, an image with a one-word description, a Pin with no description at all.I’ve made a lot of mistakes with Pinterest, both in the Pins I’ve created and in the strategies and plans I’ve set forth. And I’ve come to discover that Pinterest is wholly unique from Twitter and Facebook, and that I’ve had things quite wrong from the start.
All these mistakes have been a wonderful opportunity to learn. I’m grateful for the chance to keep improving my Pinterest strategy, and I’d love to share with you all my mistakes and the new perspectives I’ve gained from researching and experimenting with the best ways to Pin on Pinterest....

It's a bummer, but a fact of life. And the reaction of visitors when they land on your temporarily unavailable website can run the gamut -- from "taking it in stride" to "totally losing their minds."
While there's nothing you can do about the latter, you can make your website downtime a little less of a pain by having a creative error 404 message. This can do wonders to make your website visitors crack a smile in an otherwise frustrating situation....
Many influencers talk about the 80/20 rule: you should spend 20% of your time creating content and 80% of your time promoting it. Although I think this ratio really depends on your job, needs and company, it does capture one thing: if you write amazing content but don’t shout out your did so, no one will hear you.
And as far as promoting your blog goes, you can pick and choose on the list above the items that make most sense to your company. If for instance you work for a very technical B2B company and your target audience is above 50 years old, you might want to consider investing in LinkedIn rather than Facebook, leverage influencers and invest time in guest blogging. It all really depends on your audience, where they are and what they care about.
There is one very important point I’d like to add to this infographic: it’s not content repurposing (which I thing is one of the leanest way to do content marketing, it saves an incredible amount of time), it’s content recycling....
With Canva, creating social graphics is a snap, with templates already sized to fit Facebook covers and posts, Twitter headers and posts, Instagram posts, Pinterest pins, Google+ covers, Tumblr banners and graphics, and YouTube channel art.
Above all – your first concern should be that your visual content is being seen how you intend it to — that the dimensions are right, so nothing gets cut off or stretched out of proportion.
But don’t strain your brain trying to remember how many pixels go where or scour each site’s help section for the information — instead, bookmark this page and use the infographic below as a cheat sheet for creating all your social media images....

Looking for a reference guide that will give you information on everything you need to know about Twitter analytics?
You’ve got it…Before we start, think about the following…
How much timedo you waste on Twitter? (too much!!)
When was the last time you analyzed your tweets to figure out what works and what doesn’t work?
When was the last time you analyzed your audience to make sure you are attracting the right people?
What happens when traffic from Twitter arrives to your website? What actions do they take?...
Before I joined Buffer, I barely had a Twitter account.
It existed by its lonesome for a few years as a placeholder for the day when my work allowed me to tweet freely. That day came when I had the privilege to join up with the Buffer team, and I dove right in, applying all the Twitter knowledge I had stowed away. And still, even with a running start, I had so much to learn.
Knowledge seldom takes the place of experience. So while I muddled through my first few weeks on Twitter—experimenting and fiddling—I noticed the many things I could have only learned by doing. Here are the big ones. Call them Twitter tips for beginners.
Maybe you can relate to some?...
Content marketing is hard. But it doesn’t have to be boring.Lately I’ve been trying my hand at testing smart little tactics — or what I call “hacks” — to get better results out of the content marketing strategy I oversee. And I’ve been amazed at what tiny, innovative tests can do to drive some serious results. Plus, it’s pretty fun!
I was first inspired by researching the idea of “growth hacking” for a presentation I’ve done at a couple of conferences called, in short, “Hacking Human” … which doesn’t involve body parts and machetes, I swear. The gist of it is that marketers can optimize their content for what humans want and are looking for online, and then use growth hacking principles to test their assumptions and get the most out of their efforts....

You’re asking all the right questions…
- How long should an email subject line be?
- How long should your blog post be?
- How long should your [Insert digital content here] be?
Buffer surveyed, tested, and measured to find the ideal length of everything online (including your email subject lines), and then they put it into a nifty infographic for you.
