Le reporting permet de synthétiser des données sous forme de rapport. Ainsi, il est plus agréable, plus pratique, plus lisible, plus présentable d'exploiter nos données.
Des exemples simples de rapports sont nos bulletins de paye, nos factures, un calendrier de l'année, le bilan de l'année,…
Aujourd'hui, il est facile de générer ce type de rapport à l'aide d'outil comme Jasper, Pentaho, Business Object, crystal reports, cognos,… mais aussi BIRT, celui que j'ai choisi de vous présenter.
