You can add /install Google Drive to you Microsoft Office with the download plugin for Office. This is a benefit in saving time and keeping them in Microsoft Office formatting instead of transferring it to Google Drive. This can cause some issues when transferring a Microsoft Document to the Google Drive as some feature may not be available and undoing some things within the document. Within the article is a step-by-step process on how it is done.

Every now and then I will receive a Word (Docx) file as an email attachment. I have configured my Google Account to allow me to open these files as documents converted into Google Docs format. In the video below I demonstrate how to configure this setting. Via Gumersindo Fernández

To open a Word (Docx) file in Google Drive after it has been uploaded to your account click the check box next to the file name. After clicking the check box you have two options. Option 1 is to right-click on the file name. Option 2 is to use the "more" menu at the top of your Google Drive home. Either way you will have an option to select "open with Google Docs." See the screen captures below for details. |
