Different than the occasional bout of self-doubt, fearing obsolescence means we fundamentally question our professional significance. When we over-indulge the fear, it creates cognitive distortions of ourselves, others, and our environment that can bring us to the worst versions of ourselves. Whether you’re early in your career and facing a lifetime of technological and economic disruption, or later in your career and questioning your future relevance to the world, feelings of obsolescence don’t have to mire you in fear or futility. The question isn’t how to avoid these feelings, but rather how to spot evidence you’re having them and address them in healthy, honest ways.

Somos conscientes que la palabra por sí sola, “resistencia”, nos da y podríamos estar hablando sobre muchos tipos, situaciones de resistencias a “algo”.Como nota introductoria podríamos hablar que antes de la década de 1930, la «resistencia» se refería a manifestaciones en Ciencias en general, por ejemplo por fuerza que se opone al avance de “algo”. Comenzó a ser utilizado como un fenómeno humano en dos contextos. Uno de ellos fue la idea de una oposición colectiva (coordinada) colectiva a algo, por lo general sugiriendo base ilícita, por ejemplo, la Resistencia de los combatientes en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, para distinguir la forma simplemente la oposición.

Recently, there has been considerable interest in large language models: machine learning systems which produce human-like text and dialogue. Applications of these systems have been plagued by persistent inaccuracies in their output; these are often called “AI hallucinations”. We argue that these falsehoods, and the overall activity of large language models, is better understood as bullshit in the sense explored by Frankfurt (On Bullshit, Princeton, 2005): the models are in an important way indifferent to the truth of their outputs. We distinguish two ways in which the models can be said to be bullshitters, and argue that they clearly meet at least one of these definitions. We further argue that describing AI misrepresentations as bullshit is both a more useful and more accurate way of predicting and discussing the behavior of these systems.

Trans people often experience stigma and discrimination, hostility from others, and pressure to “manage” their identities in social settings, including the workplace. These experiences can set in motion a host of psychological responses that have devastating consequences for trans individuals’ job satisfaction, turnover intentions, and emotional well-being. Despite growing public awareness of the struggles that trans individuals often face, many employers remain ill-equipped to create policies and workplace cultures that support their trans employees. Fortunately, a growing body of research suggests how they can more effectively attract, retain, and promote the health and success of these workers. Interviews with and surveys of more than 1,000 trans people over the past six years reveal four key areas of intervention that can cultivate a more trans-inclusive workplace: (1) basic signs of trans inclusivity involving bathroom use, dress codes, and pronouns; (2) effective support for gender transitions; (3) trans-specific diversity trainings; and (4) interventions to build resiliency.
