"Google Docs for Learning" Glog~Personalization for the 21st Century Learner

"Google Docs for Learning" Glog~Personalization for the 21st Century Learner | Literacy -LLN not to mention digital literacy in Training and assessment | Scoop.it

When I saw this Glog that features ways for teachers to organize Google Docs for Learning, I thought this would be a great way for students to personalize their learning space.  Each student would have a set of templates, resources, videos, mind maps and visual tools to support their learning.  Each student could take ownership to their learning based on how they learn best.

Personalized Learning starts with the learner and a Glogster poster like this would be a great starter in creating personal learning environments.

Your thoughts?

‘Sounds, such as the noise of certain machinery, or the background hum of daily life, have an associative as well as a pure meaning, which can be used to evoke images or ideas relevant to the main substance of what is being taught.

Life in a Inquiry Driven, Technology-Embedded, Connected Classroom: Science | Powerful Learning Practice | Literacy -LLN not to mention digital literacy in Training and assessment | Scoop.it

I teach in an inquiry, project-based, technology embedded classroom. A mouthful, I know. So what does that mean? It means I lecture less, and my students explore more. It means that I create a classroom where students encounter concepts, via labs and other methods, before they necessarily understand all the specifics of what is happening.

A report by Barbara Bray and Kathleen McClaskey explaining the elements of the Personalization vs Differentiation vs Individualization chart.  In the explanation, UDL will play an important role in the learner understanding how they learn best.

The chart on Personalization vs Differentiation vs Individualization that we created brought an enormous interest from people and organizations around the world.  This report was developed from many questions we received about the chart elements in comparing these terms.  In responding to these questions,  we have included specific references and links in explaining these elements related to Personalization vs Differentiation vs Individualization.

Please download the free chart and report!  Your feedback would be appreciated.

"During the past 18 months, after I’ve delivered conference presentations about online learning, I’ve enjoyed the pleasure of answering questions from attendees as well as the opportunity to ask teachers and administrators about their online learning programs. In too many instances, I’m finding that districts haven’t thoroughly worked through a planning process that involved all stakeholders. Nor are districts carefully vetting online resources before purchase."

COE recruiting students for the Ed.D in C&I w/specializations in Bilingual Studies, Higher Ed, EdTech. Apply: April 1.

The College of Education hosted an information session on Monday, March 5, 2012 to discuss the Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Three doctoral specializations were introduced for the Fall 2012 cohort (Cohort 6). These specializations included Educational Technology, Higher Education, and Bilingual Studies. We had a very good turnout with several students interested in the three specializations.

I clicked on your link, but it took me to a page which said the deadline for submitting an application was March 1st and there was no EdD in Curriculum and Instruction listed. Perhaps it's the wrong link?
