Globally, one in three employers struggle to find employees with the skills and experience necessary to meet their needs, and almost one-third cite a lack of experience as a key barrier to filling their open jobs.
"2 out of 3 ain't bad!" Clear titles can too often be boring titles. "HR Manager" may be clear but it's identifical to 100 other listings. Creative titles aren't "jargon" -- if they're done well, they can be a very strong part of a good recruiting strategy.

For talent managers, creating learning and change is as much about changing habits as it is about imparting skills. Like retailers trying to lure customers with low prices, traditional efforts to create organizational learning may be thwarted if employees are not aware of the habits they must first unlearn.

I agree with every point in this article -- been pushing this point for years -- with the exception of the "essentially informal conversation" part. I actually developed a very structured template for this interview -- it's value far exceeds the value of exit interviews.

You’ve written a compelling job ad that hits all the hot points. You’ve distributed it widely. You’ve even managed to get it high up on search results pages. Despite all that, the number of applications is disappointing.

Each year, organizations in the United States spend roughly $135 billion on employee training. Companies know that they need to encourage the continued learning and development of their workforce in order to stay on top in their field. The latest on the jobs market, in the U.S. and around the world.
So, when Korean automaker Hyundai announced it was opening a third shift at its plant in Montgomery, Alabama, and was planning to add 877 jobs, the response was unbelievable. By the June 2 deadline, close to 22,000 applicants had filed online for these sought-after production line assembly jobs that paid $16.25 an hour to begin. The applicants to jobs ratio of 25:1 is daunting and clearly shows the continued jobs market issues in the country.
