Vive la France! Vive la Tech!… But do these two great tastes taste great together?

Vive la France! Vive la Tech!… But do these two great tastes taste great together? | Digital Transformation: The new war for talent | Scoop.it
I spent last week on a junket in Paris, paid for by the French government, visiting the various hubs and spokes of the burgeoning French startup scene. I don’t think they’ll invite me back, after they read this. My considered assessment is that the French government, and to an extent the larger French tech scene, lacks ambition, boldness, and confidence, and their technology strategy is doomed to failure.
Alexandre Carrera Lejeune's insight:

This article demonstrate the contrast in France vs the US about the efforts of  government to create an environment which will encourage start-ups to develop themselves.

Also it show how the culture of each country affects the mentality of entrepreneurs.

At the end, the writer gives some points of how France could change in order to fulfill its ambitions.

How Cisco’s Talent Brand Turned its Social Media Presence Around in Just 6 Months

How Cisco’s Talent Brand Turned its Social Media Presence Around in Just 6 Months | Digital Transformation: The new war for talent | Scoop.it

Cisco is no longer a “networking” company, it’s a technology company, with a new CEO, a new Executive Leadership Team and a new focus on culture with a newly appointed Chief People Officer. Not even a year-old, Cisco’s People Deal – the employee value proposition that guides our culture was the catalyst for a shift in Talent Brand voice, because not only was there a
description of what Cisco expected from employees, but what employees could expect from Cisco.

Most people know of Cisco, but do they really KNOW Cisco? The Talent Brand team had to overcome the image of Cisco as this “stodgy old tech company” image.

We are diverse, we are cutting edge, we are a great place to work – and our employees are the ones saying it.

Alexandre Carrera Lejeune's insight:

A great example on how to attract the right talent.

Rajesh Jagadish's curator insight, June 28, 2016 7:19 AM
