Human development in recent decades has been accompanied by rapid changes in technology and an increasing proliferation of digitized devices and services. And the pace of change seems likely to accelerate as a result of “frontier technologies” such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. These technologies have already brought enormous benefits dramatically highlighted in 2020 by the accelerated development of coronavirus vaccines. But rapid advances can have serious downsides if they outpace the ability of societies to adapt. There are fears, for example, that jobs are disappearing as more economic activity is automated, and that social media is exacerbating divisions, anxiety and doubt. Overall, there are concerns that frontier technologies will further widen inequalities, or create new ones. Most of these issues have been voiced in developed countries. But the implications could be even more serious for developing countries if poor communities and countries are either overwhelmed or simply left behind. This report considers how developing countries can catch the wave of frontier technologies, balancing innovation with equity in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals.

A Table of Contents (ToC) is used extensively in a variety of documents. There are different styles of templates available online. If you work primarily with Microsoft Word, you can download templates from the Microsoft online store or other websites.
Whether you are a student, a corporate employee, or a creative person, there are many templates for you to choose from. This article summarizes some best-looking templates for Microsoft Word. Jim Lerman's insight: If you have a document that will benefit from having a Table of Contents, using a template will save tons of time, look good, and save you a lot of aggravation.

More than a year of a lot of working from home has changed the concept of the ideal workspace.
During the pandemic, many employees learned to appreciate the advantages of working from home once they acquired the necessary infrastructure. Many employers noted reduced costs without a loss in productivity and as a result are extending the practice until the end of 2021 with occasional visits to the office.
The post-pandemic challenge is to devise a hybrid model that would work best for an organisation and its employees. How much can be done remotely? What components of the assembly chain require employees to be present at the office? How should time, tasks, and locations be balanced so that products and services can be delivered smoothly at the optimal cost while not sacrificing the professional culture of an organisation?

For better or worse, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world of work.
When, where, and how we work look fundamentally different today, not by choice but by chance. We have all had to pivot and adapt to new challenges and increasing uncertainty in order to survive and thrive in a world under siege by an outbreak few of us saw coming. But now, as we start to emerge from the pandemic, some of us have become eager to return to the pre-pandemic version of work, while many others want the changes—and gains—made during the crisis to last beyond it.

Long before Covid-19 hit, the global skills emergency had been gathering pace. Back in January 2020, the World Economic Forum (WEF) predicted more than 1bn people – that’s one-third of the world’s workforce – would need to reskill by 2030. Worryingly, its more recent Future of Jobs Report 2020, published in October 2020, revealed many skills gaps will continue to widen due to the pandemic, with 40pc of employees requiring some form of reskilling.
As automation threatens to “do half of all work tasks by 2025”, a new breed of specialised jobs and skills will be increasingly in demand. Many of these expert roles will be in technology. AI and machine learning, cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain, AR, VR and full-stack development, for example, are all predicted to boom in the years ahead.
