![]() As of February, the smartphone share in the United States has reached nearly 50%. 2012 is FINALLY "the year of mobile" and this means that you need to invest in a mobile user experience. Check your analytics — that mobile traffic share keeps growing!
With all of the hype that responsive web design is getting, what are the biggest implications for marketers and SEOs regarding its fit as the long-term mobile strategy?
First Of All, What is Responsive Web Design?
In a nutshell, responsive web design (RWD) is a technique which uses fluid layouts (which "stretch" to as much screen real estate as possible) in addition to the CSS "@media queries," which apply different style sheets (CSS) based on the current screen size of the device. With responsive design, your website will fit virtually any device with a full browser:
smartphones, iPad + other tablets (both landscape and portrait modes), and even TVs. It doesn’t matter that thr Galaxy Tab’s resolution is different from a Nexus S phone — your site will render beautifully, as long as responsive design was correctly implemented.

"It takes a thousand men to invent a telegraph, or a steam engine, or a phonograph, or a telephone or any other important thing — and the last man gets the credit and we forget the others"
I think that pure creativity does not exist. Any action creates a reaction, so new ideas are either copies of existing ideas used in a new context or in reaction to something already existing to create different results.

How Photography Is Making Companies 33% Better OffPR Web (press release)The customer has got to be able to get as close to the product as possible - it doesn't matter whether it's an iPod or a mansion” said the Ellie Design Spokesperson.
***** Not sure I would have chosen this picture for this press release, but, that irony aside, this is a good post on an ecommerce basic. Great, detailed, well lighted photogrpahy is one of the three legs of a great ecommerce product page (reviews and large buy button with clear call to action and pricing would be the others for me).
Ignore the picture they included here and read the article/press release.

In this post we have collected some beautiful single page web designs for your inspiration. Enjoy!
***** Cool, love the idea but chances of getting a single page website into Google's index are about zero. Exceptions to this rules is if your last name is Winfrey, you are a sport's star with a large following or you've juiced other sources (Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon). Probably a great idea for the URL play (buy the keyword dense URLs you want and build out content on those pages).
The multi-URL play feels grey hat to me, but keywords in the URL are always better than NOT so sure go for it with a bunch of one pagers that look half as good as these templates and you could win, win until Google changes the rules again and then you are probably screwed but that is true for us all, true for us all :).
