These ancient cultures called me to be bold and step away from a narrative and a psyche deeply programmed by colonialism and indoctrination-style schooling. Somehow, at an early age, somewhere within my being, I already knew that my call was not on the menu offered at school. I struggled to envision my future within any available “opportunities.”
