New antivax trope dropped: refusing RhoGAM.

A Facebook group featured a post from an expectant mother with health issues who was nervous about Rhogam -which is very much indicated by her and her husband’s Rh status.

Many of the comments were wrong and unhelpful. One suggested it contained covid spike proteins, which would have required a time machine to introduce them to Rhogam 58 years before covid existed.

None of her medical issues are contraindications to an injection that prevents her immune system from attacking her baby -which can lead to devastating results:

* fetal anemia
* hydrops fetalis
* kernicterus, and
* fetal or neonatal death

Without this shot, the risk of sensitization is about 1 in 6; compliance with the full schedule reduces those odds to 1 in 500-1,000. Not a bad deal.

Rhogam is NOT a vaccine: it is a plasma-derived immunoglobulin: the same class of therapy that antivaxers like PIC *endorse* after exposure to (or sickness from) diseases like varicella, Hep B, measles, etc… to rationalize not vaccinating -even though it doesn’t work as well as being vaccinated. For COVID, it didn’t work at all.

Thus, this is an antivax-approved, passive immunization agent that:
* acts immediately to prevent anti-baby antibodies
* confers no immunologic memory,
* is cleared within weeks, and
* prevents certain horrible pregnancy outcomes.

Vaccinations against polio, mumps, measles, diphtheria, rubella, varicella, hemophilias influenza type -B are required under Public Health Law Section 264(8) and the rules of the Commissioner of Education.
The religious exemption under public health law was repealed in 2019.
The medical exemption remains. However, it is only in very limited instances. Unvaccinated students may be excluded, without due process,to enforce compliance on public health and policy grounds.
The exemption may only obtain under a licensed physician’s supervision, and can only be renewed annually.

Could dentists help deliver vaccines?

While vaccinations have traditionally been administered in primary care settings or pharmacies, some states have authorized dentists to administer vaccines. An interdisciplinary team of Penn researchers, including SP2 Associate Professor Dr. Tamara Cadet, validated a survey on attitudes around the role of dental providers in HPV and COVID-19 vaccination.

“Expanding the scope of dentistry to include vaccine education and administration could increase access to care, vaccine uptake, and disease prevention,” says Cadet.

Vaccination's greatest success created a dangerous blind spot: most people no longer remember the diseases it keeps away.

As National Immunization Awareness Month begins, the United States has reported 2,371 confirmed measles cases in 2026 through July 30.

Kindergarten coverage has fallen again, adult records remain fragmented, and patients trying to understand vaccine ingredients often encounter either dense regulatory documents or misleading online claims.

The newest Decoded investigation examines the gap between vaccine science and the systems that deliver it. It follows the evidence from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outbreak data and FDA ingredient records to missed appointments, conflicting guidance, and the growing demand for plain-language formulation transparency.

Institute directors have final say on funding decisions and are critical to the integrity of NIH.

NIH historically followed a rigorous process to identify qualified candidates for institute directorships, involving a search committee with internal and external scientists who help interview and recommend candidates to the NIH Director.

We were already worried because the NIH has not been following that process, opting not to include external scientists on the search committee.

But sadly, even the watered down process was completely scrapped to install someone ideologically aligned with RFK. This weakens NIH substantially.

Note that this bill is also supported by some anti-vaccine groups, maybe because it will move COVID-19 vaccines claims into VICP - something that is long overdue, in my view.

These fixes, largely, are things we should all be able to agree on.

Never knew that I would see a day where the conspiracy theorists were actually correct and the actual "Science Guy" was the culprit:

For folks who are unaware, this is about Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is an American physician-scientist and immunologist and a very reputed one who served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 1984 to 2022 and as Chief Medical Advisor to the President from 2021 to 2022.

He is currently being accused by congressional Republicans of misleading Congress, covering up the origins of COVID-19, and misrepresenting U.S. funding for gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China.

What makes it more suspcious is that instead of answering question, he refused to answer multiple questions during an interrogation, citing the 5th amendment more than a 100 times.

The trial has not concluded. But as the investigation reveals more and more proof that indicates he is guilty, the trust the public has in government decreases considerably.

When a national advisor to the government, especially one from the biggest and most powerful democracies in the world is accused of lying and misusing his position and powers, it just destroys the little TRUST that people have in Science. This is a disgrace!

Why? Look at the timeline

In 2 days, on August 5, the FDA decides on the first mRNA flu shot. Its advisory panel already voted 9-0 in June. Moderna says it is ready to ship for this season

Here’s what the FDA’s own reviewers flagged:

- They only have data from one flu season
- No data in frail or immunocompromised elderly
- No data on giving it with other shots
- And for adults 65 and older, they tested it against a standard dose flu shot. But CDC already tells that group to get a high dose shot instead

So 65 and up is not getting full approval. It is getting accelerated approval, with the confirming trial required AFTER the shot is on the market

So the study that answers these questions runs after the rollout

Last flu season is only helping this all happen. There were ~32 million cases and 24,000 deaths. The dominant strain showed up after the vaccine strains were already picked. The CDC even admitted the shot was not that effective

So we had a rough 2025 flu season + brand new product Moderna is pushing hard for 2026 + a launch window right before flu season = you already know the story coming

So if you hear “worst season ever,” ask what that message is selling
