How accurate is surveillance of adverse events from the Hib vaccine? The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) is used by the government for tracking side effects of vaccines, including the Hib vaccine. Approximately 101 cases of permanent disability or death related to Hib vaccination are reported to VAERS each year. However, as a passive reporting system, VAERS has limitations:
- It relies on voluntary reporting, which can result in significant underreporting.
- The CDC acknowledges that VAERS captures only a small fraction of actual adverse events, with studies showing as few as 1% of serious side effects being reported.
- VAERS reports are not proof that a side effect occurred because the system is not designed to thoroughly investigate all cases. As a result, VAERS does not provide an accurate count of Hib vaccine side effects.

The ACIP has never been questioned by the general public in term of trust. It is only through the misinformation of individuals like Peter McCullough and McCullough Foundation that the general public had hesitancy regarding vaccines all of which are safe and effective. If anything or anyone should be irrelevant, it should be these misinformation drivers. Under the Biden administration, these lies were being controlled, and silenced. Under this administration, these anti-vaxxer individuals are being brought to the forefront with potential role within public health roles which makes no sense.
