Defend Public Health launched a website!
DPH is an all-volunteer network of public health researchers, healthcare workers, advocates and allies fighting to protect the health of all from the current administration's attacks on proven, science-based public health policies.

Jeff Calderone, CEO of Elevated Third, built the site at no cost to DPH. “Few issues are more important than bringing clarity to complex public health issues. At Elevated Third, we are proud to donate our Drupal expertise to build Defend Public Health’s new website -- giving thousands of scientists, clinicians and advocates a place to help us protect evidence-based public health policy.”

The only mistake that should never happen again is that anti-vaxxer doctors are issuing recommendations that the literature does not support t all. Dr. Mumper's clinical experience and interpretation of available data, diverge from the broader scientific consensus to the point one wonders about this person credibility and expertise. As an example, most major health organizations have generally supported the safety and efficacy of Covid-19 vaccines for children, emphasizing the benefits in preventing severe illness while Dr Mumper’s claims are totally opposite.

Readers should be engaging with a range of sources other than Dr Mumper’s including peer-reviewed studies and official health guidelines, can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the issues discussed. Only then could a parent truly understand the dangers of Dr Mumper’s claims.

The case of Peter McCullough from the McCullough Foundation or when a really bad paper that should have never existed is retracted and used to pretend censorship.

When papers turn out to be flawed, journals typically correct the record to stem the spread of incorrect information and clarify that the other work in their catalogue can be trusted.

Peter McCullough, wrote on Substack, “I believe any paper is targeted that brings hope to patients on early therapy, natural immunity, or reveals failure of government narratives concerning contagion control or vaccine safety. The biopharmaceutical complex uses a variety of measures to coerce editors/publishers to retract manuscripts and remove threats to the ‘official narrative’ depicting the virus is deadly, unassailable, with the only solution being continued mass vaccination.”

Asked about the reasons for the retraction, a spokesperson for Elsevier, which publishes the journal, said that concerns had been “raised on a number of fronts leading to further review. Upon that further review flaws were detected in the work.”

The spokesperson continued: “Our goal is to prevent any cases that could potentially compromise the integrity of the scientific record and trust in research.”

GDHP Digital Health Literacy Toolkit released

The Clinical and Human Engagement Work Stream in the Global Digital Health Partnership (GDHP) recently released the Digitial Health Literacy Toolkit which is available free to all from the GDHP website at https://lnkd.in/gr4brMfT .

The toolkit seeks to:
- Quantify information about digital health literacy capabilities and identify priority areas for education
- Compile digital health literacy resources from GDHP member countries (you may recognise some Australian content here)
- Capture implementation experiences and develop case studies of results

Digital health literacy is critical to all nations to ensure that we don't leave our most vulnerable cohorts behind and to maximise the effectiveness of digital health in our respective nations. This toolkit provides an excellent summary of the current state of play and provides examples that should be considered by all.

Congratulations to the GDHP Clinical and Human Engagement workstream members - particularly the co-chairs - Lisa Franklin and Fidelia Cascini on the publication of this work that first began in 2022.

The anti-vaccine cult… Or the occult approach for anti-vaccine groups to create more social media or even scientific presence when their misinformation can’t not end being published anywhere. We have seen tons of misinformation papers of badly designed, flawed methodology, and wrongly analyzed pseudo-studies from anti-vaccine authors retracted from reputable journals. But in light of such, we are seeing always the same individuals creating a cult like cabal of fake journals or new predatory pay for print journals to push their false narrative. Look at how are the editors of some of these journals, and you will find the Hooker, McCullough, Kory of this world. Always the same faces, always the same narrative, simply differen names of journals. The Lancet had identified this issue, in 1889…

The objective of JaAVELIN is to regroup all of us that are fact-checking anti-vaxxers on LinkedIn and making sure that together we will be able to make sure that this professional platform remains professional and respects both science, public health guidelines as well as LinkedIn policies on both vaccines and public health guidelines. Together we can make a difference. Our group’s mission is to call out anti-vaxxers, to fact-check these, and to report any post that would be misinformation, lies, or false conclusions of existing papers. We want JaAVELIN to be a collective which pushes the truth by calling out the lies, misinformation and guarantees the protection of a group in light of anti-vaxxers either blocking some, pushing lies on the truth we post in fact-checking them and trying to have our posts removed. At the initial stage, we will create a collective to collect fact-checking of falsehood posted by already known anti-vaxxers among many but also identify other anti-vaxxers and make sure that both as individuals as well as a group, we can properly police LinkedIn, and make sure that we can not only identify such individuals, call them out, fact check them but push LinkedIn to either remove such misinformation as well as ban such individuals or groups as well.

"The percentage of Wisconsin schoolchildren not receiving state-mandated vaccinations because of their parents’ personal beliefs is four times higher than it was a generation ago.

That rise in personal conviction waivers has driven a decrease in all immunizations among Wisconsin children ahead of new measles outbreaks hitting the U.S. that are linked to three deaths.

Wisconsin’s measles vaccination rate among kindergartners was the third-lowest in the nation in the 2023-24 school year, behind Idaho and Alaska. (Montana didn’t report data.)"

Sometimes, the credibility of a person should be assessed prior to evaluation claims he makes. In the case of both #petermccullough and his McCullough Foundation, we should be aware that these two entities/ individual have been identified as misinformation peddlers and should not trusted.
Science.feedback have identified multiple instances where such was fully demonstrated.

There are so many false myths, misinformation and lies around the Haitian situation that it needs to be clarified. It is false to say absence of vaccination, or even widespread vaccination as 512,000 COVID vaccines were given in Haiti. The COVID infection rate was a very high one, but the death rate was indeed lower than other countries. But the explanation lies elsewhere. If compared with similar median ages, Haiti did not better or worse than any other. There were less death as the median age in the Haitian population is only 24, hence a population with a much lower comorbidity rate.
