Sora, OpenAI's new AI video generation platform, which finally launched on Monday, is a surprisingly rich platform that offers simple tools for almost instantly generating shockingly realistic-looking videos. Even in my all-too-brief hands-on, I could see that Sora is about to change everything about video creation.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and company were wrapping up their third presentation from their planned "12 Days of AI," but I could scarcely wait to exit that live and, I assume, not AI-generated video feed to dive into today's content-creation-changing announcement.

Der Begriff Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) wurde bereits in den 50er Jahren geschaffen, ein Marketingkniff von John McCarthy, der seine Forschung damit auch von dem Gebiet der Cybernetics abgrenzen wollte. Inzwischen haben sich unter dem Begriff einige Teildisziplinen entwickelt, etwa Machine Learning und Neuronale Netze. Sie finden bereits in zahlreicher Software Anwendung.

Les générateurs d'images basés sur l'intelligence artificielle ont vu une adoption croissante ces dernières années. Le modèle d'OpenAI(Nouvelle fenêtre) a généré plus de 10 millions d'images par mois dès sa mise en ligne en 2022. L'intelligence artificielle s'apprête à franchir une nouvelle étape en générant des vidéos. Google has unveiled a new chip which it claims takes five minutes to solve a problem that would currently take the world's fastest super computers ten septillion – or 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years – to complete.

The chip is the latest development in a field known as quantum computing - which is attempting to use the principles of particle physics to create a new type of mind-bogglingly powerful computer.

Google says its new quantum chip, dubbed "Willow", incorporates key "breakthroughs" and "paves the way to a useful, large-scale quantum computer.

Early last year, OpenAI introduced the AI video generator. It has been quietly in development to a select group of testers, until being unleashed to the public on Monday.
