YouTube recently released an update to the YouTube Creator Studio, Cards. Cards are somewhat similar to the existing Annotation feature in the Creator Studio which allows users to add text and clickable "hotspots" on their video that can direct a viewer to another YouTube video. Cards differ in their appearance and impact on the viewing experience. While Spotlight annotations would appear directly on top of the video, Cards appear as a small pop-up in the right hand corner of the video with a call to action created by the owner of the content. Also, at any point while viewing, all of the cards can be revealed, allowing the viewer to click at any point on any of the linked, associated content.

My question for Social Blade: Good information about the tags and videos that appear in the sidebar. Is there any other factor that contributes to the videos that show up in the sidebar? Also what about the videos that show up at the end when someone is finished watching a video? Any idea what determines the videos that show up then? Response: A lot of that is based on the viewer's history. So the videos that would show up for me would be different than the ones that would show up for you. It's mostly between that and the tags!

I love that MKBHD said he stopped using an end card. I think the videos are so much cooler without them. Then Unbox therapy stopped using an intro. Wow just goes to show that once you build a following those intro and outros don't really matter much....

There are some changes to when and how you can claim a custom URL for your YouTube channel. But the good this is you can do this:
"qualify for a custom URL by linking and verifying your official webpage with your channel or +Page"
Pretty sweet right?
