Due to safety concerns, Keep Lewisville Beautiful has postponed its annual Trinity Trash Bash clean up.  The event was originally scheduled for 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday; it will now be held at the same time Nov. 17. KLB made the decision to postpone the event because of West Nile virus concerns.

In an ongoing dispute over the sale and purchase of wholesale electric power, a Travis district judge handed the Lower Colorado River Authority a small victory Friday when he ruled the nonprofit utility could sue the city of Georgetown.

The old joke about wanna-be football players (“He’s not very big, but he makes up for it by being slow”) can be applied to the proposed Lake Columbia.When compared to some Texas Lakes, Lake Columbia, if it’s ever built, will not be large. It will have about 95 miles of shoreline and a volume of 195,000 acre feet. If and when constructed, an earthen-style dam (with above-grade fill) will be 6,800 feet long and just under 70 feet high.
