The Upper Guadalupe River Authority Board of Directors on Wednesday approved agreements with regional partners to pursue state funding for telecommunication infrastructure needed to support a flood warning system in the wake of the deadly July 4 flood. The board unanimously approved two resolutions necessary for the Texas Middle Mile grant application, which was due Thursday. The grant seeks funding to expand the Lower Colorado River Authority's private LTE network to provide secure communication for rain gauges, water sensors and warning infrastructure throughout Kerr County.

East Texas water war continues with Bass filing denied

A judge has granted a motion to strike a legal filing by Kyle Bass’ attorneys in the ongoing East Texas water war.

Judge Deborah Oakes Evans, a retired senior judge sitting by appointment, ruled Monday, Nov. 17, to deny filings on behalf of Pine Bliss, LLC’s and Redtown Ranch Holdings, LLC’s for an emergency motion to set aside the final judgment and granted a motion to strike filed by attorneys for Sanderson Farm, Consolidated Water and a group of local chicken producers.

El Paso Water’s proposed budget could see $10 hike in water bills

El Paso Water presented its proposed Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Water, Wastewater and Stormwater budgets to the Public Service Board (PSB) on Thursday, Nov. 20. If approved, households can see a nearly $10 increase per month on their water bill. The stormwater fees would not increase, but the average residential water bill would increase by $9.99 per month, a 12 percent increase compared to last year’s bill, according to the news release by EP Water.
