The manager of Immacule Lab, a cosmetics company in northwest Harris County, is accused of illegally dumping 100 gallons of coconut lotion into a sewage line leading to White Oak Bayou. Chemicals in the product killed nearby plants and is harmful to animals, according to investigators. It could also clog stormwater systems and pose a risk to drinking water.

North American Development Bank, or NADBank, officials announced the launch of the $400 million Water Resiliency Fund at the end of its annual summit in San Antonio on Friday, August 30. The fund — which will consist of $300 million in low- or zero-interest loans and $100 million in grants — will go toward helping both United States and Mexican water consumers who rely on the Rio Grande and its watershed to conserve water amid worsening scarcity. The funding is meant to be evenly split between both countries.

Trinity River Authority Approved to Intervene in Water Permits Proceedings

The Trinity River Authority (TRA) Board of Directors approved a motion on Aug. 27, during its regularly scheduled meeting, authorizing the organization’s General Manager Kevin Ward to take all actions necessary to intervene in the State Office of Administrative Hearings proceedings regarding the applications for groundwater permits for Pine Bliss, LLC, and Redtown Ranch Holdings, LLC.
