Fancy, a crowdsourced cross between Pinterest and a catalog, is capable of selling thousands of units of a product, but only if it grabs the attention of enough users...
How Do You Fancy?
Fancy presents products, split into 16 categories, in an image-driven format. The site's 8 million users see big pictures of each product, along with a few descriptive words. They can "fancy" a product (like pinning an image on Pinterest), look at a longer description, or purchase the product.
There are also monthly subscriptions of products, some themed by celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher or Pink.Users follow others to see what they like, adding to the social nature of the site, and can add products they like to the system, with a link to the seller's site. The Fancy negotiates access to sell them or vendors can directly approach Fancy and offer their goods....

Snapzu is a new social media and curation tool. It feels like a combination of Pinterest and Scoop.it. Basically, you set up a profile, choose a bunch of "tribes" to follow, search and discover content, and create and share posts from your curation as well as new posts you create. It's now in beta stage and is worth exploring though the number of topics and members is still small.

New research offers insights on measuring the overall impact of brand marketing on “social voice”.Twitter has seen the analytics light. In a recent move of great importance, but zero fanfare, the bluebird folks have opened their analytics tools to everyone. Now you can see real time details on mentions, follows, unfollows, and the number of clicks each tweet produced. You can also see a load of collective detail about your followers, including their top interests, location, gender breakdown (gotta wonder though, what gender is, say, “IBM”?), and the top ten accounts your followers are following, among other items. How to find it: To reach your Twitter analytics dashboard, go to “Twitter Ads” under “Settings” (you might have to login again) and then click the “Analytics” tab at the top....

Today, the website creation market is dominated by a handful of veteran players, as companies like Wix, Weebly and Squarespace now own the majority of mindshare and boast tens of millions of users between them. While many smaller players ended up in the deadpool during the market’s land grab, one veteran startup has managed to survive — and even bootstrap its way to profitability. Today, five-year-old website creator, SnapPages, is rolling out a major redesign and upgrade that aims to lure aspiring site builders away from name-brand competitors by offering a service that’s actually accessible to everyone — whether you’re a novice or a wily professional....

There are two features of Haiku Deck that stand out. First, Haiku Deck intentionally limits how much text that you can put on each of your slides. Second, Haiku Deck helps you find Creative Commons licensed images for your presentations. When you type a word or words on your slides you can have Haiku Deck search for images for you. The images that Haiku Deck serves up are large enough to completely fill your slide. You can also upload your own images from your iPad or import images from Instagram and Facebook....

By far, the most popular post we have ever published at the Content Marketing Institute is 10 Must-Have Templates for Content Marketers. Though this post is almost two years old, our readers still seem to clamor for this type of information and advice.
To that end, we wanted to provide a refresher on the most popular templates and checklists shared by the CMI team and our guest contributors. Some of these are “oldies but goodies” that we included in the first list, and others are new. All are intended to simplify some part of the content marketing process — and all can be customized to your particular needs....

Vizify hit the ground running as a new social media platform that excels in social sharing. A smart, multi-channel approach is incorporated in their own marketing....Before this post, I had never heard of #Vizify. A tweet from a good friend mentioning me in her video caught my attention. Since there was a link, I was intrigued.
The video is brief–less than a minute–and it’s informative and entertaining at the same time. The fact I have a role doesn’t hurt either. After viewing her video, I am invited to create my own, or I should say, I am invited to let them create one for me. The user interface is clean, simple and entertaining, all at the same time. And the real power, you can edit if you don’t like the finished product they create....

Do you like privacy? Do you shun surveillance and eschew spam? Do you like simplicity? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you'll love DuckDuckGo....
If this sounds like something you don't want to be a part of, start searching on DuckDuckGo. Since DuckDuckGo uses some 50 sources—including Bing, Yahoo! and Wolfram Alpha—for its search queries, you'll get results that look similar to what Google returns. DuckDuckGo even improves on traditional search engines in some ways; it combs through results, pulling out irrelevant links and spam and content farm fodder so that its returns are good and clean. Meanwhile, an anonymous search option uses Tor to route your query through a series of encrypted relays. You can even do voice search with a new-ish Google Chrome extension....
As an entrepreneur, I look to others to tell me about the latest apps, time-savers, hacks, and tricks. However, no female founders were interviewed. So I decided to do one with all women. Below is just a small sampling of the great female entrepreneurs and some of the apps--business and otherwise--that they can't live without.I culled a list of some kick-butt women entrepreneurs whom I look up to and a few I'm lucky enough to know. Clearly, I have a lot of downloading to do....

Blubbr is a neat quiz creation service that you can use to create video-based quizzes. Using Blubbr you can create interactive quizzes that are based on YouTube clips. Your quizzes can be about anything of your choosing. The structure of the quizzes has a viewer watch a short clip then answer a multiple choice question about the clip. Viewers know right away if they chose the correct answer or not.
To create a quiz on Blubbr start by entering a topic for your quiz. After entering your topic enter a search for a video about that topic. Blubbr will generate a list of videos that you can select from to use in your quiz. When you find a video that works for you, trim the clip to a length that you like then write out your question and answer choices. Repeat the process for as many video clips as you like. Click here to try a short Blubbr quiz about the human heart....
