Unlike other documents, PDF document is like a snapshot of your source document. You may be tired of finding ways to edit it. With PDFCool, the user can double-click a sentence to edit it, or drag an area and then use the Text Editor tool to edit them.

The City of Naples WEB APP used a storyboard which tell the story of naples development via a map--- map story is similiar. Should make us think how we need to get georgraphy back into schools integrated with history and ecnonmics.

I have to admit that I'm not a great fan of grammar, but this is a site that I do really like. It's called English Language and Usage and it is like a Q & A of English grammar. The site has a huge collection of questions that people have sent in about various aspects of English grammar idioms and general usage and anyone who is registered can the try to answer the questions.

I have been playing with a very simple brainstorming and voting website called tricider. The great thing about tricider is that it is incredibly quick and simple to use, and yet it enables users to collect information and opinions from all over the web in a very easily digestible and powerful way.

Ania, I don't know if a mobile app is available for apple (it's not for windows yet). It's very smooth, I agree. It reminds me of Prezi and Glogster, as well :)

Muito bom o artigo, e uma ótima ferramenta para pesquisa de alunos e professores, para melhorar seu desempenho e utilizar melhor esta ferramenta tão presente no nosso dia a dia que é a internet, a importância da leitura não é muito apreciada por muitas pessoas, que já se acostumaram com a cultura da informação mastigada que a TV e a internet consolidaram em nosso país. Se o problema é tempo, os bookmarks estão sempre oferecendo a opção read later, e com o apresentado no artigo acima, ainda resume todo o texto para os mais apressadinhos, vale a pena conferir e utilizar. Making the move from our safe and trusted traditional literacy habits to newer digital skills can be quite a challenge, but as teachers I think we are really unlikely to be able to use technology and help our students use technology really effectively unless we are prepared to face this challenge. Technology needs to be more than part of the way we teach but it also has to be part of the way we ourselves continue to learn and part of our everyday professional practice.

Hi Amadeu. No problem. It's always a good idea to check every source before signing up. I work very quickly and often forget so it's good to remind me. I usualy stay away from services which require me to sign in through another service, but this looks really good so I made an exception.

I also use Jango.com to play music in the classroom. It allows me to create a station with music that I have pre-selected and therefore know the lyrics won't come as an unpleasant surprise.

The use of Scholar Droid is very simple and quite efficient. The user can write any keywords in the search field and determine the content format: be it article or book. The app displays the results from Google Scholar in one column feed. The articles or books can be downloaded or displayed through the app.

This site provides a way to have an online textbook that you can share with students. Even in the free edition, there are upgrade charges for features and more storage, you can create and join classes.
It looks like this has the potential to be a great resource, but I found trouble right away while searching for a couple topics that I currently teach. There are not textbooks that have tags that help me find what I was looking for. This made me question if the information is on the site and not tagged, or is it too new that others have not uploaded information. I thought that the software creators would have obtained copyright privileges for a number of topics to start the site out. They would have been seed ideas to get the ball rolling. For you to upload PDFs, you need to have the copyright permissions. So while the potential is there for individualizing, it is not a quick jump right into it. |
