Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee on May 6 regarding his past association with Jeffrey Epstein. Lutnick has denied any wrongdoing but faces questions about a 2012 lunch he attended with Epstein on his private Caribbean island, Little St. James. Lutnick previously claimed he cut ties with Epstein in 2005 after a disturbing comment, but recently released files indicated continued contact. His admission to the 2012 lunch drew criticism from Republican representatives, and Lutnick’s name was also included in a spoof “Walk of Shame” installation in Washington, D.C., last month, which laid out pavement stars for famous people embarrassed over their past ties to Epstein.
