How to Make Dyson Fan at Home | Daily DIY | Scoop.it

In this instructable, i attempted to create a Dyson Fan at home using a cardboard and high rpm DC motor. This DIY bladeless fan looks exceptionally well and works on the same principle to produce a uniform airflow, however, it is nowhere comparable to a commercial dyson fan.

How to Build a High-Powered Rocket

How to Build a High-Powered Rocket | Daily DIY | Scoop.it
I've wanted to get into high-powered rocketry for a while now, so this year, I decided to jump right in to the hobby and start learning how to build, fly, and recover large rockets.

For this project, I built a 6' tall rocket capable of flying motors that can be used to get Level 1 and Level 2 certification through Tripoli. With one of the larger motors, this rocket will be capable of flying over a mile in altitude and hitting mach 1 on the way up.

Build a Concrete Block Garden for Food and Memories

Build a Concrete Block Garden for Food and Memories | Daily DIY | Scoop.it

This is my first Instructable. It details how we developed and built a raised bed garden out of concrete blocks (or concrete masonry units). It includes relevant photos of the process, accompanied by my incredibly witty, eloquent, and sometimes excessive commentary, discussing why we chose to make certain decisions, as well as discussing our successes and missteps along the way.

Desktop CT and 3D Scanner With Arduino: 12 Steps (with Pictures)

Desktop CT and 3D Scanner With Arduino: 12 Steps (with Pictures) | Daily DIY | Scoop.it

To acquire 3D scans of semi-transparent objects, I constructed an optical CT scanner using an Arduino Nano and Nikon dSLR. Halfway through the project, I realized that photogrammetry, another 3D scanning technique, requires much of the same hardware as an optical CT scanner. In this instructable, I will go over the system I constructed that is capable of CT scanning and photogrammetry. After acquiring images, I have steps on using PhotoScan or Matlab for computing 3D reconstructions.

Landing a Rocket Vertically, Without Being a Billionaire Aka Rocket Drone

Landing a Rocket Vertically, Without Being a Billionaire Aka Rocket Drone | Daily DIY | Scoop.it
This is my patent pending Rocket Drone.
Since SpaceX and Blue Origin achieved the vertical landing of their own rockets, to obtain the reusability of the Falcon 9 and the New Shepard, I've been fascinated (and obsessed at the same time), by these accomplishments. In short words, I've designed my own rocket (on a small budget) to have the same "fun", on a smaller scale!

Open Source Turtle Robot (OSTR)

Open Source Turtle Robot (OSTR) | Daily DIY | Scoop.it
Robotics is the exciting intersection of a number of engineering fields including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. This project was designed as the basis for a two-day workshop for high school age students to introduce them to engineering principles and giving them a jumping off point for exploring their interests further. There is something for everyone here, even if it is just for the art it creates.

3D Printable Robotic Actuator: 9 Steps (with Pictures)

3D Printable Robotic Actuator: 9 Steps (with Pictures) | Daily DIY | Scoop.it
Upon research for an upcoming project, I discovered this simple way to make very tiny magnetic actuators. RC enthusiasts have been using these for some time now, but they don't seem very well known. I think there are a lot of useful applications for these little actuators, and they are simple enough to be designed by anyone, which means easy to implement in custom projects. Follow along in the video as I show you how to make the one designed and I will explain how it works. Although I have provided the files to 3D print my design, I encourage you to try and design your own!

Compact Computer Ruler

Compact Computer Ruler | Daily DIY | Scoop.it

Many times while trying to design something in Tinkercad or the Silhouette Studio program, I find myself trying to visualize how the finished piece will look. I'm not great at sizes and proportions so I pull out my measuring tap a lot and it's just not convenient. To make things easier, I decided to add a little ruler right to my laptop. I made it out of vinyl and it makes designing things so much easier.
