Anybody from the NFL receiving an award for domestic violence prevention seems odd, at best, in the current climate.

A former Miss Finland has become the twelfth woman to come forward and accuse Donald Trump of sexual assault, with two weeks to go until the US election.
Donald Trump's shocking abuse of women is at the center of the election campaign, but it is symptomatic of the sexism that millions of women face.
Paula’s story echoes comments that Trump made to Access Hollywood host Billy Bush in 2005, when he bragged, “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful women—I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.”
The Giants' reputation took a major hit because of the Josh Brown situation. Following his release, how does the franchise rebound?
At a time when the league and the Giants are spending plenty of time trying to rationalize and justify their approach to kicker Josh Brown, who in May 2015 committed an act of domestic violence that the league didn't deem to be sufficiently serious...

Mr. Trump has sent the party back to the Dark Ages — or at least the 1950s — with his provincial notions of masculinity and misogynist notions of femininity, his cartoonish bombast, his vulgar jocularity and his open hostility to women who question him. In short, he’s reaffirmed the worst stereotypes about Republicans that Democrats have pushed for decades.
As I recently wrote, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has come under fire for disavowing his own domestic-violence policy to shield now-former New York Giants kicker Josh Brown.

“[I]t won’t be just Trump that drives me from this party. Domestic violence is not a problem that women can solve alone.
Anonymous Hades's insight:
It is true that domestic violence and violence against women in general are not problems that women can solve alone. Unfortunately there are places in America, such as college campuses, where men who do violence to women are protected from scrutiny and from prosecution by the very administrators who are supposed to insure the protection of women on campus. The Destroyers data mining project was created as the result of one man's effort to address the issue of domestic violence and violence against women on a college campus.
